Hello
I am quite of like to work in night and i also go to bed very late in night to sleep.
But when its time come to study, I got some confusion.I like to study in night as i used to it.But some people says it is more better to study in early morning.
It is more peaceful and concentrating nature in morning. And there is more benefits to wake up in morning.
But whenever i try to wake in early morning, i go to bed early in night and when i wake up, its very late in morning also. Its happening every time that my morning wastes as i am sleeping and night was wasted as i slept.
So is it only with me or someone else has also this problem.
So now i got to study in night and what have you done??

I think it depends on individuals. For me, I study better at night because I am more awake at night than during the day. So, since you like to study at night, then by all means continue with this routine becos I believe it would benefit you more.

I would rather get my homework and studying in at night because it is when everyone in my house is quiet and I can concentrate on what I'm doing. Studying in the morning would be somewhat the same but I don't do it because I am more tired in the morning so I have no desire to try and work my brain. Another thing about studying at night I like is I get to get a bunch of information in my head and get to keep it in mind all night rather than doing it in the morning and focusing on something else right when I finish

Hello sydneyJ
I am in same way as yours. You said, you are restless in morning and you study in night as it would be in your mind for you sleeping hours. But many says that It is good to study after the resting hours during sleeping and after that we should study with a fresh mind.

During our school days we were always advised to study in the morning. I think the reason is that we are relaxed after a good nights sleep and our minds are free to absorb more information.
However I think we cannot have a law on at what time to study. Different individuals have different peak times.

Yes joseph
we surely can't make rule when to study. Its depend on everyone's condition that how is his daily routine. For someone its better to study in night who don't have something to do in morning. And those who have to go daily schools, I do recommend to wake up in morning.

From my student life to this life, i prefer nightshift. The calm environment of night makes me more concentrated and i am used to it. Take care.

Hi shibham..
I agree with you.. I tend to work at night as not only am I more awake, but the information seems to sink in more for me at this time.. I can concentrate so much better as my siblings are out of the way *usually in bed*, my Mum is relaxed *usually watching TV*.. so its just peaceful..

Maybe I am the unique one who love to read at both times and never find any trouble during reading. Maybe my passion regarding reading is more than what I write. During exams I always preferred to read the whole book in the night and than early in the morning (5.00am). I found that whatever I read in the night, revised reading the morning went straight in to my mind and during writing the exam paper I never found anything missing in my answer sheet :D so that is why I got good marks always :D

I also used to study at night. I feel more comfortable that way. I want to finish studying before I sleep and be calm when I wake up in the morning. I feel that if I do it in the morning, I have more time to sleep without rushing in the morning. Most of my classmates do the same thing when we were studying. They told me it is easier to memorize and study in the morning than at night. I tried it once but I did not end up the same like them. i woke up early in the morning, but since it is the morning of the day of exam, I feel like I am rushing and the tension made it really difficult for me to concentrate. I was not able to finish the whole lesson and I ended up getting a lower grade than usual. I think that it is better to study at night since you have a lot of time then, you also said that you don't sleep early and that is an advantage for you. I think that if I study at night and I feel very exhausted, I can save a little part of the lesson for the next morning, or might as well finish everything before I sleep.

Yes sometimes I was helpless also, when i left my work for morning and i got late to wake up in morning. So I never leave some work to complete in early morning as I learned a lesson.

I think that the best time to study is when you feel alert. If you are a night owl, then it is better to study at night; but if you are most alert in the morning then that is the best time. It really is up to the individual. Some people don't function well in the morning and others don't do well at night. I just do it whenever I feel like it.

for me no time is good for study n any time is good for study...don't study from a book...just look into yourself and around you...observe things and try to study from our surroundings..don't miss any chance to listen to a wise man...try to meet as much [people from different sectors try to understand their views ...if u think they are right then take that reject everything else develop your own thoughts n its the way to go..........

Hi Vikki, welcome to mylot. i think you are new here.
Many say that it is good to read in early mornings but you know in early mornings we like to sleep more at that time only. I would study even upto midnight 12 or 2am but i can't even get up and studying at 6am. In the mornings if i take the book, i feel sleepy not able to study. but nights means it will be silent also and can study more time.

It is hard for me to decide between them. I really enjoy the privacity and confidence of studying alone late in the night, but it's bad because next day I'm tired and just want to sleep. In the other hand, studying in the morning is nice because the air is fresh, the sunlight is weak, and it's very enjoyable to have your cereal while you study. I think I'd pick studying in the morning if I had to choose one.

i think studying in the morning is better than studying at night. it's in tune with our body clock if you do things in the morning then rest at night. maybe you have this problem now because your body clock is being disturbed. our bodies would tend to adjust with our activities. plan your activities during the day and have enough rest at night.

for me, if studying at night is effective, why not make it a habit. If it increases your grades and improve yourself better, well, keep it up. Whatever is the time you would want to study and whatever is the time you feel comfortable with the environment while you are studying your lessons, it really doesn't matter that much. What's important is its impact on yourself and on your grades. But for me, i prefer studying at dawn. I don't know its just my habit on sleeping early at night then waking up at 1am or 2 or 3 then sleeping again at 5am.. Though its weird or unusual for you. But its my habit in grasping the lessons i am about to learn.

Personally, I find that my mind is much more retentive in the morning time, by the afternoon, it seems to be getting a bit tired, but still working fairly well. In the evening I am just ready to chill out and watch TV.
It used to be the other way round when I was a pro musicians and worked at night clubs most of the night and slept in later in the mornings. Now I awakened around 5 am and am up not much after that.
As we get older we change and need less sleep. I have noticed this happening with my family and friends too, so whatever we are experiencing right now, I don't think it is a permanent thing. _Derek

Hi vikku,
Welcome to mylot.
I used to study at night. Same problem like yours. I cannot wake up too early, whereas its easy for me to stay late at night.
So it does'nt matter when you study as far as you can concentrate anytime of the day it is best for you.
Don't believe the myth that its only good to study in the morning.
Believe your own instinct and do according to your what your body tells you.

I think it's probably best to study in the mornings if you have the time. This is probably when you are at your most alert after having had a good night's sleep. It's nice to obviously have breakfast first and then you will be set to turn your head to the books so to speak. I've tried studying during the evenings and tiredness tends to set in and it's very difficult to concentrate on the material being studied.
That's what I would advise in any case. I think it's different for everyone though. Everyone will have their own preferences in terms of study techniques and times. Andrew

The best time to study actually is on early morning, rather say at dawn. Why I say like that because our brain had had enough rest after processing so many information through all the day. So it's still fresh, ready to receive new information and most likely the information will be stick at brain more efficiently. When we study at late night our brain already received too much information through out the day and struggling to keep the information coz it tired already. Anyhow it's just an opinion, it's really up to you what do you believe.

I used to study early morning, as it is quiet and good for your concentration and memorizing topics. Studying during the day or night didn't work out well for me.
Even in my office days I noticed, that the early morning hours were more productive than the rest of the day. So get used to study early morning.
