Is it true that homosexuality and homosexual rape are rife in Muslim Countries?

I wanted to know what ‘rife’ means in this context? Does it mean that homosexuality is alive and thriving like in all other normal societies (Muslim or otherwise) OR does it mean that homosexuality is more in Muslim countries compared to other nations OR does it mean that like rape, the issue homosexuality too is suppressed in Islamic nations, though its very much there? As far as my understanding goes, homosexuality is something that is prevalent in every society…why should the Muslims or Arabs be any different! What I feel is that all Islamic societies are very traditional and rigid with little scope for individuality ... so like rape, homosexuality too is denied openly and a false notion is created that such things do not exist in such religious and pure societies.

Yes, I know what ‘rife’ means…what I wanted to ask is why do you feel that homosexuality is more prevalent in Islamic / Arab nations? Do you want to know if this is true or are you saying that this IS the truth?

Well I think homosexuality is widespread all over the world by now.Jewish,Christians,Hindus and Muslims are somewhat engage in homosexual acts.Homosexuality is strictly forbidden in Islam,and in most religions and it has a severe punishment.If you can remember the Biblical and Qur'anic story about Prophet Lot in Sodom and Gomorrah,you will understand,that homosexuality is a big sin;that God vanishes the whole city because of that.Homosexuality and rape is a weakness of faith.

Yes, no doubt there are homosexuals of all religions but that is not what I asked. Is homosexuality more common in all Muslim countries or only in Arab countries?

I remember 
an unknown actor accuses of a gay director to have raped him as part accepting him in the showbiz industry, which he was caught by surprise. but the gay actor was well defended by his talents that are popular now. i don't know what happened to that case. It's a possibility for non-arabs but no actual case actually resulted imprisoning gays for molestiing straight men unless it's a phedo.

I dont know about the punishment for homosexuality in arab countries. But when i worked in saudi arabia i seen lot of people practising homosexuality. Seeing women is prohibited in arabia normally mens can see only mens if they are came there for work purposes. So they are satisfying each others.
