Yesterday my daughter was checking our family album and she loved her baby days pics and celebrations. She stood before her mirror and was questioning me why she is not cute now. I assured her she is beautiful as always, but she does not accept, she says she has a rosy lips, cute eyes and looked lovely, but now she feels she is not..lol. One reason,i felt was though its physical changes, but babies are less stress free than as they get elder. My daughter stress is now her beauty and school homeworks..lol. Is this true?

Babies being cute is an evolutionary trick. It ensures that it will be properly cared for by it's parents. Since babies are such hard work and human growth takes so long, infants and children needed all the help they could get to keep parents interested in caring for them as long as necessary. I personally don't think babies are cute, though.

I don't think children loose their charm while growing up. But your girl is becoming a young lady. She started to worry about the way she looks! If she knew how much time she waste for this, she would concentrate on more important things in life. But, unfortunately, we realize this truth only when we're over 40...

You are right Inu! Me and her dad has decided to take her out and have a friendly and comforting conversation to make her start understanding the life. Its right time to talk to her on the new changes of life that she is going to face..hopefully she will understand Inu. She is not adament but a bit sensitive, so we need to handle her friendly!

Oh thanks Inu! I always value her as a gift for our true love. We thought she is still a kid, but she started to think as big one. So she needs a supportive guidance.

Babies do not worry about how they look, they just are themselves. When we grow up we start worrying and that is not attractive at all. Also, physically different parts change proportions at different times and that has a lot to do with how we look as well.

Yes GG, I feel thats what my daughter is facing now. She feels why should be so cute few years back and all of sudden she lost it. But other point, i feel she started to analyse and think many things. So i feel its my and his dad duty to talk to her and explain things as simple as possible for her to understand.

Oh,kids are always observant. My daughter also says same thing and ask why she looks cute when she is a baby. But when I ask her if she wants to remain a baby, she responded quickly NO Baby looks cute maybe because they're chubby and small. Again, they say, small is always cute and bigger ones were "acute"

I found her only lately, her power of questioning is getting doubled day by day and happy that she started to observe everything around. You are right! Kids are very observant and sharp! Ya, she says the same she don't like to be a baby, but wanted to be cute. Small things are really adorable and adds cuteness than bigger ones! Hope she will understand as she grows up!

Hello besthope! While all of our kids still have a certain charm about them, no matter how old they get, they mature and go through changes. It is almost like anything in life as it gets older it slowly ages. Would be nice to always have our kids as the babies they were but then no adults would be left on earth. lol Children are so cute today with the questions they ask. They are smarter and smarter each day.

Hi HWG! You are right! Older we become, we lose the charm as its matter of age and other natural and life factors. I love to be in my childhood days, but truly we need to get into adults to enjoy the life experience. LOL. They are more smarter and sharper, sometimes i blink a lot to answer her questions..lol!!!

I personally don't think they lose their charm. We just find babies so adorable because they are one tiny little thing. Tiny little hands, fingers, feet and physical attributes. Most people or majority of them found tiny little things, animals, etc. cute and adorable to look at.

I agree with you on the size ...babies are miniatures of us. All babies whether human or animals are also innocents and so very attractive to us...

You are right Kish. Tiny things are more cutest on earth. She even admires the puppy and compare them to the big dogs which looks not so attractive. I wonder how she got such a thought and its hightime, me and her dad need to make her understand the difference in life as age grows up.

I think it's quite the opposite. most babies look the same as most other babies. like little fat bald old men. it's only when they get old enough for their personality to show through that they actually get cute.

It is because of the fact that little babes are angelic and evince interest in all of us as children of the Gods. Later on their minds are poisoned by grownups and most of those babes lose their exuberant charm in due course. LOL

Honestly true! Children are the gifts of god, with innocence and pure heart. While as we grow up we develop the anger, jealous, hatred which reflects on face and thats how we loses charm!

My dearest Lady besthope...out of the mouth of babes..?? When I first read, the opening line of your discussion, I thought it was going to be about a 10 or 12 year old, such mature thoughts for such a little angel. What makes me wonder, is why a sweet little puffin' would care so much about appearance..is it T.V? I'm sure she is just as cute now, as then...just in a bit more age appropriate! Hugs to your!

Hi Pergammano, Nice to meet again! Oh ya she is just 6 years, but her questions, i sometimes blink a lot in order to answer her right way! She is very sharp and sensitive as well. It was her friends at school, who discuss about these stuffs, because both my little ones likes only cartoons on TV. One of her friend always comes in makeup at the age of 6 itself, which is really bringing impact on my gal. A good friendly talk with her can make her understand the good and bad. Planning for a outing this week and hopefully, she will understand!!

I think you might be right, Besthope. They are so sweet and innocent and helpless as babies. It's not that they actually lose their charm as they get older but it does change and yes...some do lose charm. It's their personalities and they aren't as cute and cuddly anymore. Teen years are tough because they do stress over everything...looks, schoolwork, friends, boyfriends. Everything is so dramatic and they tend to be a bit moody also which doesn't help gain them charm points. All this passes and usually they turn into beautiful young adults.

I remember when my oldest daughter would get jealous of her much younger sisters. She was a teen and complained that they got more of my attention because they were cuter and all. They were just little toddlers. So one day after listening to enough of this, I decided to treat her exactly the same way. I talked to the same way, called her out for snack time etc etc. About the time that I called her to sit with me on the couch for story time, she had had enough. She got the point and it was never brought up again.

Thats so wonderful of your daughter. And nice you shared it, i can follow it to help my daughter out. Its a common thought among the growing kids, the best solution is they needed extra care, so they will understand it better. You are good parent and handled her at best with the snacks.lol.cheers!!!

Thats true fact Sid556! As babies they dont lose charm, with their innocence and worriless life. Many of us use to stay we love to go back to the child days. Its a heavenly life and as we grow up we tend to face troubles, problems and tensions. But being smart in life to take up problems, still adults can retain the charm and stay good!

I think that the word cute can be applied to any baby, but not all for them are beautiful. On the other hand, most children are handsome or beautiful in one way or another. They have lovely smiles, they open their eyes in wonder, they are active and interested. Maybe you should talk to her about why she thinks she´s not beautiful. In one of my stories about mothers and daughters, I wrote about this and the daughter´s problem was how she dressed as compàred to her mom

At one time or another self steem goes down the drain. And I don´t have to be a writer to know that. As we grow old, we learn to look down on our own ghosts.. When I was about 11, I found everyone was better looking than I was. It took me years to discover that I had been quite good looking Now I´m trying to do my own brain washing so that I accept that some ol´ witches on chemo look worse than I do.

I like the way you worded it! Look down on our own ghosts..lol. But honestly you are right, not necessarily to be a writer, as we learn them by experience and age. Its a good way to train our brain to accept certain things so it will start believing it, same way is thought of applying that we look good than others. Good one Marguicha!!

we all seems to be charming and cutie pie when we are little, but when we are adilts we are not so this thing doesn't even bother me, i think am cute when in child and even now, and i also dont think physical charming is of any use rather than impressing others with look, i dont care much of it, its the inner beauty that is the real matter, surely people change a lot when growing it takes up a shape which is unique when in kids all looks alike and innocent, and yea stress free from wold tensions, its natures law that nothing remains constant it is all about change and we cant stay it like that always adjust with what you get and be happy thats all.

As we grow older, we experience stress. I believe stress is a factor why are physical appearance change. If I can just travel in time, I wish that I can become a child again. Children are not stressed. They are so cute and almost all the time they are happy. They don't think of anything. They always enjoy.

Hi Killevenlu, please dont worry, beauty is internal and not external ones! I am also going to explain my daughter about this. Internal beauty never fades with ages whereas the external appearance do change as age ups! So cheers, all of us are charmful people on earth!

Nature designed babies that way & wired our brains to see them as cute. That's why puppies & kittens are cute as well. It helps to ensure that the rest of society ( or the pack in nature ) are attracted to them & want to take care of them otherwise we wouldn't put up with the B.S. of raising them.

that is true for me, and also their cute reduce because the earth gravitation, heat of sun shine and what they eat too. most baby also have a lot sleep than adult. maybe that is why they look so rejuvenate..

Scientific fact ifa225. Babies do sleep long hours with free mind and that is one reason they look glowing and charming. And later as they become elder, exposure to outside world, sun and their lifestyle changes the way they look! A valid point ifa!!

I think it is because God really designed babies to be cute, and I think it is to easily enable us to love and be fond of them. As they grow up, their faces mold to what they are going to look like when they grow up. This is why they lose their cuteness and start changing and maturing.
@besthope44 (12123)

Thats true globaldoc. Babies are the gift of god. And thats why we tend to shower our love and likeness. But when they tend to grow, they lose the godliness and they face tensions and stress, by which they lose their charm.

I think that they are cute because innocent and we become older we loose the innocence and those who doesn't get that kind of malice and in some way they keep innocence are adorable for the others, for example my husband love the way I am because I still keep part of innocence. Why we loose the innocence? As we are growing we have more and more responsibilities that make us be stress out and get frustrated for things that are not as important then we loose the spontaneity and then we smile less and we are not as charming anymore.
