group-work - working in groups

I've always preferred working alone in spite of teachers and the world telling me that groups are more effective, it's not always true. A whole group of people who are FOCUSED might be fine, but in general, one or two are "go-getters" and the rest of them are just taking up space. Groups don't get things done, individuals do. In school do you or did you like working in groups or alone?

It depends on the situation. I'm a writer, and that's a kind of "alone" sort of activity. However, I also enjoy getting with other writers for not only companionship but, also, for actually putting something together such as an anthology, newsletter, etc. I have a special friend who started out doing a number of good cause recycling projects on his own but who now has quite a following when it comes to doing this. Having others involved helps to get more people able to benefit from what he has done. Larry always reminds people that he couldn't do what he does even half as well without them...
This is a place to keep up with various life stories -- at least, in the way that I perceive them... glitter-graphics.com Tuesday, April 21, 2015 Larry's Page !!!This is Larry Eugene "The CanMan" Van Ness!!! and this is his own special page !!!!!!! As with

There are times when working alone is more effective than working in groups especially when your group isn't that diligent. Although working in a group has its own advantages such as finishing the task faster. I've recently had the chance to work with a few computer graphics artists (amateurs) to finish an animation short. We didn't finish it but we did finish halfway through. The job will be tough if only one person will try to do it and there's no other way to finish it within 2 years than to work with a group.

I always liked working alone best because I knew I could count on my information and I did not have to rely on others to uphold their end of the assignment. I most often found myself frustrated as the others in the group would be slacking. I also found it unfair when each member put into the assignment. I certainly understand the importance of being able to work with others, however I felt the teachers did not look at the big picture. It always seemed the teacher was looking to get out of grading the individuals in the class.

I liked working by myself in projects when I was in school. However, the teachers wanted us to cooperate in a group work. I was thinking, it wasn't that good of an idea because I've been with group members who were only relying on their team mates to do most, if not, all of the work, yet in the end, everyone gets the same marks. It just wasn't fair when those members didn't care to chip in. So, I preferred to work on my own because I know exactly what I had to do without having had to rely on others who were often lazy.
