LAZY Security Guards again!

Philippines

Hello Lotters, May I asked you? How many times do you see the security guards when ever you enter an institution? One of their workers of Super Malls or SM (department store) was killed by an ex-wife who refused to let him go and shot him right there in his work. even the guard who tried to intervene also got killed. My elder cousin is a security guard in somewhere in an Alabang Subdivision, but i don't how active he is. You don't have to asked me, I know how lazy the security guards can be most specially in the mall. after this incident, they will start being strict again.....and lazy again, after a YEAR.

Not only years but days that they won't be strict again after the incident. At times the manual inspection is not always accurate and yet not all people are willing to be patient when guards are working hard on it. I would really advised that detector must be really a requirement so that it could avoid hassle as well. The culprits has their dirty tactics already and they already know how could they do the trick to avoid the inspect of the security guards.

Hello Metatronik, Most of them have metal detectors but it seemed most of them are not using it very well too, they probably leave it behind while they use their sticks for search. I just can imagine if a terrorist was able to enter that with out being detected I doubt this won't happen again, the lax of security will happen again for sure

Hell hath no fury with a woman scorned. I saw that on the news, the woman is so desperate in brokenhearted because her husband left her for another woman. She shall have filed a lawsuit against them instead of trying to kill him. There are so many fish is in the sea or she can still be happy without a man on her side as long as she takes care of her children. Now who will take care of her children.

Hello Albert, I strongly agree with you that she should have filed a case, they are still married then she can file a case to court but unfortunately she let herself go straighten to jail. there's definitely a lot of things that she could have done if she is focus. have anice day.

She thinks if with her heart's pain instead of being wise and use her brain. Is she was not too emotional, she might have been the winner of this war without resorting to violence. There are better ways for her to get her revenge without destroying her life. Now she is on jail what will happen to have kids?

They are rent a cops and I am sure they do not make all that much money. But I am not sure why. People do not fear athority anymore so i think that security guards need to look and act more of the part to at least scare people. People are weird these days. Something in the water is messing with our brains and amygala.

Hello Amanda, I wonder, what's the use of those over supplied security guards if they are going hire cops? and the security agency is well trained and owned by the police force. i think the woman feared authority but she knew the security is completely lack of strict inspection

When you are in that state of mind your amygdala over works itself and you do not feel fear. So you seem to do whatever comes to mind because you are not thinking straight. I have always called security guards rent a cops. I think they are funny because they should just use real cops in case something like this were to happen.

I was about to post a discussion about this, but you already made one. Anyways Letran, she's not an ex-wife. She's the legal wife. They're not separated with that guy. The security guards' tasks are not that easy. If there's someone who should be blamed, it's the head of the security or are the ones who are making commands to the security guards. In an interview with my classmates to the head of the security in our school, she said that security guards aren't allowed to check extremely or whatever the word is the bags. People should also realized that when too much inspection happens, all they did was to complain. Somehow, I don't understand the cycle. When the security is tight, almost every one complains. When something happened just because the security is not that tight, almost every one also complains. What's really our stand?

Hi Letran! It's good to know that you know the logic to why places such as malls tend to have a strict security, but not all people are like you. People are good at complaining. The woman, as what the news states, was crazy and she was a victim of abuses. What her husband did triggered her to do such. I'm not telling that she made a right decision to kill her husband but she's completely insane.

Hello ElseMarie, If that is the case then she could have just filed for a separation. I know she's a legal wife but she never should have resulted into that scenario. the jobs task are not easy and still they laX about it. there had been many testimonies in the FB fanpage. I don't care if they complain much because of too strict inspection, I know I wouldn't as long as my safe is guaranteed. Have a Nice day.

My dad's so annoyed with how lax security is at malls, they just jab their drumsticks inside your bag, without really looking, and then you're free to go. My dad once asked a guard in the LRT after jabbing his bag with a drumstick, "Ang galing ng mga Pilipino no? Yung mga stick may detector. I tusok mo lang sa bag isang beses alam na kung may bomba o wala" (Aren't the Filipinos good? Drumsticks have detectors. You just have to stick it inside the bag and it can detect if there's a bomb). The guard stared at him, wanting to reprimand him, but he can't cause he didn't say he has a bomb. They just looked carefully at his bag and glared at him

Hello knicnax, Glared? They have no right to look gloomy and blue or act like an angry cop because you're dad is telling the truth. i have seen myself when ever they attempt to search my bag. i only go to malls rarely a few times and this security procedure isn't tight. be careful and have a nice day.

I know! But what my dad said was like a slap on their faces. serves them right for not doing their job properly

I guess I can't blame them. There are maybe thousands of people entering a mall a day and we can't expect everyone one person to be inspected thoroughly. That may result for you to be waiting an hour before you can even enter the mall. But I have a suggestion though. Maybe the malls can install something like a scanner that can show an image like an x-ray. Like in the airport. The guards can see what is inside the bag even without opening it. That can make our malls a little bit safer. And for the guard, maybe he did his job, maybe not. Maybe he got tired during that time. But I'm sure he will be kicked out of his job, poor person.

Hello Bannedhelsing, They should use their Metal Detectors all the time! one of the employees of SM said that is their premier branch, therefore the security must be 100% accurate and specifically equiped with the available gadgets like the metal detector. He did his job but not strictly and that compromise the life of their staff inside.

I agree, they are lazy and have no consistency. At one time when incident like this happens, they would be strict, but would be lenient again after a few months, not even a year!

Hello chiyosan, I feel sad when ever i would enter a mall. you know even with some banks they can be lenient also with security check ups. when ever incident strikes, there's always time for them to be strict but now all the time. careful and have a nice day.

This is another shocking news. I just hate violence. Anyway, I find most securities in malls very lax. Sometimes it seems that they are just pretending to check the people going inside the mall. Most of them even seems to be tired of their jobs. I just hope all securities will be consistent in checking belongings to avoid another incident like this.

Definitely, experienced terrorist could pass through them so easily. They wouldn't even have the slightest idea that they are not only endangering themselves but also the people inside the mall.

Hi Letran Knight: When I leave my job I can see the body guard of my neighbor and it seems that he sometimes is not paying too much attention. He is working ok but at the same time, let's face it, this must be probably one of the most boring jobs on earth. you lose concentration and is very difficult for a single person to keep doing the same thing for hours . I can understand this even if this leave us to security problems ALVARO

hi, for me i think being laziness of them are natural but of course their work is too hard and they need more attention for being responsible because they are the security guard, during that incident they became more negligence and result to bad because of their being irresponsible security guard.

There's a point where security guards becomes lazy to do their tasks because their work is so routinary and becomes so boring. All they need is a constant reminder and encouragement from their handler to keep their performance up to par. It's the same with our school security, where they check the incoming people's bags but instead of thoroughly checking, they just ask you to open them and insert their sticks as if it has a screening power. This kinds of work ethic should always be reported to their commander given that their work is to keep everybody safe.

Hello qnzmae, The point is that they are busted again for their lapses and from what i have heard it was a woman who lax it. i feel sad though if that woman has kids and could loose her job simply because they thought there is no threat. Have a Nice day.

Hello Judy, It's better that way than for them lacking their security because it could jeoperdize the safety of the people, like yourself. If they don't criminal elements wouldn't have trouble slipping to the establishment. most specially if it's a bank. Have a Nice day.
