Which one do you prefer? What do you feel are the benefits of the one that you prefer? I think with writing articles you seem to get more money, and faster. With blogging I think over a long period of time you can see good results if you stick with it.

They're both good. Blogging is more of a long-term prospect and involves a lot more individual work - not just writing but traffic, site maintenance, marketing and so on. On average, it takes a blog between 6 and 9 months to garner enough popularity to bring in decent traffic. Writing articles for revenue share is similar - the more content you have, the more you earn, so it's a long-term thing.
Writing on demand brings in more money short-term but it's all one-off payments so you never have any residual income.
Personally, if I had the time I'd do both (and try to). That way you have both short- and long-term income.

I agree with you and right now I am trying to establish myself in both like, I am writing articles for triond and along with I am maintaining a blog "isloootalkingpoint". Since It is in the phase of establishment my income is not as much which I am thinking for but it is started and I think I will achieve my goal with slow and steady efforts.

Thanks that is a good point that you have brought: that if it is possible why not try doing both. That way we can earn money now and hopefully later. With writing article thoughs we have to get good clients who perhaps we can write for regularly.

If you want to have a direct upfront payment. There's no doubt that Mylot is the place. Isn't it cool writing things you love and you get compensated to it? But there's also good site s out there like Helium and Factoidz. You write an article, then if it's approved, you get compensated either by upfront payment or passive income everytime someone views your article. The only Challenge is they have very high standards when it comes to submission of articles. Triond is also a good site and is lesser strict when it comes to submissions of article.

I really do enjoy mylot. I think it is a great place, I absolutely love how we can post as many times as we want too. I agree that a lot of writing sites have high standards. It is very hard to get into some of them. I tried constant content and they had be write a starter article with 500 words and then after that they basically said it wasn't good enough. I've read reviews that say they use the starter articles even if they don't let us write for them. It's kind of a bummer though. But I will try other sites hopefully in the near future.

To me, blogging is better than writing an article. Blog is just something comes out of our mind and we can write anything, but article is a formal format of writing which should be more specific, accurate and professional, but in blogs, we just can write anything, I prefer blog to article

I mainly enjoy writing articles, because I earn more, but I do get some traffic with my blog so both are good, I just earn more on articles than blogging.

Yeah if a person can get good clients and write good articles there can earn more, and regularly with writing articles. I haven't had much success with article writing that I feel pays pretty good. I think that it is hard to get into sites that pay a decent amount for articles. Perhaps in the near future I will be able to try writing articles and hopefully earn more. Thanks

Hi Dominique25. I prefer blogging on the long run. If you put up a nice blog with valuable contents, it will gain more readers to your blogs. Though you will only see the result slowly, it will gradually increase after sometime. When doing a blog, it is as if you are your own boss. You are not required to submit the article before the deadline, you are not required to type a specific number of words in your article. In fact, you can write what is on your mind in your own words and no one could stop you. Writing articles would give you more money in a short time. However, blogging is like an investment. If you have a good contents, you are able to earn more than writing articles.

Thanks. Yeah I agree that with blogging to see results will take time. And it will not be like the money is flowing in overnight. How long have you had your blog up? Do you make money monthly from it?

I like writing articles, but also blogs. I also like writing hubs and I just celebrated my fourth year writing them! They let you be creative and they don't place much limitations on the topic you write about. HubPages is constantly trying to improve the site and it is always bringing out new surprises!

Blogging and writing articles are almost the same thing. I like them both since I got to earn from both. The important thing is that you get an online work as a freelancer or have your own website to earn well.

Certainly article better than blog, because article is more complete and clear from blog. Blog is just short write which is made based on a person's knowledge. If you can write article with good, of course your article is more valuable and have a sale value.

I prefer writing articles because it is a secure and instant income source. you can start seeing results from it from the first day you post it. Unlike blogs, where you have to wait at least one year, do great effort and give it a lot of dedication to see it giving results.
