Seems to me there are a lot of people searching for ways to make money. Not just here in mylot but all over the internet. I find it sad that in our societies, all over the world, money is so important and such a factor in so many decisions we make in our lives. It would be remarkable to live in a world without money. I truly wonder what life would be like and what humans would be like without such a huge desire to have it...

We need money to be able to buy the things we need for survival. Unfortunately, trouble comes when we spend most of our waking hours just working for money, desiring money, etc. So, it's no longer us controlling money, but, money controlling us.

That's right. We just need the basics. The sad thing is that sometimes we confuse our wants for our needs. And that makes our life miserable. Also, we have to stop the "keeping up with the Joneses" attitude. If we're content with what we have, we'll lessen the need for more.

You just nailed it right there! I am so tired of trying to keep up. I just turned thirty and have a new leaf in my life. I am happy and healthy and I am ok with that. It has been a good change in our lives and I look forward to learning even more and coming up with better ways to get my needs met without having three jobs :)

I think that if we lived in a barter kind of world, one without money, humans would still find a way to valuate products and services. People would still have the tendency to make life easy. Work and responsibilities would be allocated, and the ones that have the most bartering-power would be avoiding these.
I still think it would be complicated. Having money as a unit just makes it easy (or complicated?)

True, as humans we do seem to need to have a way to make ourselves be on top. Money did seem to simplify things a bit but now the greed of humans is so out of control. I don't know that you can go back from that. I do really enjoy bartering though. I have been able to find ways to have my car repaired and to get fresh veggies and lots of other great things, without paying a dime.. just returning a favor like typing a resume or making pickles out of the cukes...

Before barter is the means of living. Now in today's generation where money is the means of exchange, it is really important that we should know how to handle it. Just don't favor money and treat it as your slave, not your master.
The love of money is the root of all evil therefore, do not idolize it nor even serve it. Money is neutral, we should handle it well, not the money handling our lives because it will just ruin us.
People who are greedy and don't know how to be contented in life are those that are prone to being slaves over money. They love their money more than their lives and this will be their doom or end.

Exactly my thoughts here. Money is not my master and I think it is the root of many evils. I have never had a lot of money, nor do I ever want a lot of it. I just want to live each day knowing I have the nutrition I need a roof over my head and love in my heart!

Hi,
Money is one of the main requirement for any human just like any other basic requirements, but we should be really happy with what we got, we should desire for more than enough money, if I have enough money for fulfill my needs, that would be sufficient for me, and whether we like of not, money plays an important role in everyone life, and without money how the life could be? that must be the ideal situation where human will live very peaceful, there will be no hatred, no violence and nothing..

How lovely and stress free would that kind of world be. We all want to live in a world where money is never an issue. But sad to say, it's not how the world works. Although people can't help but preoccupy themselves with earning, you can't actually help them not to. Money is one of the most important medium in order to survive now, it's not like in the older times anymore where you can trade off your stuff for things to eat. And having a self-sufficient backyard never ultimately solves everything.

That is very true and well put! I am in the world of battering with friends which is really great! I wish my backyard was more self sufficient but you are true in that it does not make a whole difference. My hope is to reduce my spending and limit my need for money :)

Hi jodylee
I can't even imagine world without money. As you know all are working for money only and in return what we (all people) are getting is comfort. You cannot even imagine of law and order without money if there would be no money there will bw no jail no police, no judges
nothing everything will be ruined
Then what you and we have to do is make everything possible yourself. As if you want to eat Apple then you have to plant a tree water it and make it grw in around a year then yu would be able to eat apple.
World will be finished without money. everything will be ruined.

I am not sure the world would be ruined but I certainly see your point. It is important to remember that money does not make everything easier and it certainly does not cure every problem. I certainly do not want anarchy in the world but I do want to reduce my need for things that I do not really need.

So true! We should not live for money... I just see it driving peoples decisions so often and it makes me sad to see. I understand how money has become so counted on, and there has always been a form of payment method in cultures, but the desire for more is pretty crazy... I am trying to barter more with people in my own community, which is pretty great.
