so have you? my boyfriend was telling me about this where he almost locked himself out of his own car. hehe he was supposed to put on his headlight and accidentally locked the door. however, he thought of checking the passenger side and viola! by some miracle the auto lock did not get this side of the car locked. hehe
so have you had yourself locked out of your car accidentally?

I literally just did something like this last week. My car door handle is broke from the outside so i have to open it from the inside. well i had all my windows rolled up and all the doors locked except for my drivers door (which of course is the door the handle is broke on) so as you can see here there is no way to get in. I do not know how to pick locks so that was not going to work. The opening was too tight so I could not stick anything in it to open it. I thought about breaking a window but then cleared that from my mind since I just spend 200.00 replacing my windshield when we hit a wild turkey. so here I am figuring I am screwed! Then I was examining the door and I noticed a little piece of the handle still there, so I took a screw driver and pried it up and guess what low and behold my car door opened! WA la! I saved myself! I was so proud and happy and embarrassed that I could be so stupid as to do something like this

Oh my yes this happened to me one time a few years ago and my car has auto locks. Actually what I did is that I was putting groceries in the back of the trunk so I laid my keys in there as well. I kept saying to myself, must not forget the keys. Well as bad luck would have it I put in the last bag and closed the door. As I started to walk with the grocery cart back to the stall, I though OMG, the keys. So as I started to run back to the car, I heard the beep sound and thought to my self, holy cow now what do I do.
There was no one home who could bring me the spare, so luckily I called my road service. They did come to rescue me but I had to wait an hour in a half and I was so upset with my self. So there after I have this habit now where immediately I put the keys in my purse and or pants pocket.

I sat in a nearby corner and spoke on cell phone the whole time. I was steaming for having forgotten the keys inside but had no one but myself to blame. lol

Don't you just hate it when that happens! My friend was in this situation before except she got locked inside the car. I asked her, how does that happen? Apparently, her Mum stepped out of the car in a hurry to the shops. She has an auto-lock button attached to her key chain. She pressed it before my friend even got out of the car. So she got locked in and for security reasons, you couldn't open it from the inside. So while my friend was slamming on the car door, her Mum was walking away talking to herself because she thought her daughter was walking beside her. I laughed so hard when she told me!

I have so done that. I actually made it a habit to have an extra key made just because of this issue. It is so embarrassing.

I've left my keys in the car before without locking myself out, but I can't say the same for my dog lol. I had a habit of parking at the end of the driveway while I got my mail before driving up to the garage. My dog was riding in the back seat of the station wagon, and was never a problem. Well, this one time he got so excited, and followed me from window to window, following me around the car to my mailbox, just wagging away. I thought 'how cute', until I realized that his huge paws hit the pop up door locks on both front doors (the back ones were locked already.) I had left the car running with the heater on high, because it was freezing out, and all I could think of was 'how much air will the dog have in there till the car runs out of gas?! As luck would have it, somebody was home and was able to bring me the spare key. I couldn't open the garage door because the remote was in the car, and the keys to the house were on the cars key chain. From then on, if I took my dog with me, I safety pinned an extra key into the pocket of my jeans lol.
