Hello friends
My college are over and now I am searching for a job.Now when I see my old teachers, although I respect them but I try to avoid them.I know that we should respect our teachers but conditions are different now.My all friends and me too respect them in front of them as it is culture. But after they gone,we never give them respect. As in our condition, those teachers are very lazy. They don't teach us here properly as it is a government college and they just do pass time.So may be its our anger to them but we don't respect them always.
What do you do?

Yes! I had good teachers during my school days and so I respected them.:) But if I had teachers like yours, I might not be able to show them respect.

Hi vikhu,
What do you mean by Do you always respect your teacher???
Is the respect and deference towards out teachers use and throw disposable coffee cup? No. Your post nicely reflect the doctrine 'out of site, out of mind'. No, I never acted respect for my teachers. If i respected I still do respect and if not I do not.
What I feel is respect should not be in words alone it should be in deeds. Why adopt double standard? This is 26 years since I left my high school but I have the same respect for them as i had then. I show the same me of the past for they were my teachers.

Hello friend vikku,
If circumstances turn to be so my respect for a particular teacher might change and if it does on logical ground you can not blame me for not respecting my teacher now.
I do not believe that any Tom, Harry and Jack became teachers and their deliberation in the class is too poor, they are not up to date and I am not satisfied with his mode of teaching. Just that they are/were my teachers and that is why they deserve my respect is a wrong conception. Some people hold that teachers are like our parents and I strongly oppose to it.
My parents and my teachers have different chairs to sit on. My love and respect would go to him/her who have the capacity to draw my inner self which is real and pure.
Just fancy, if one of your teachers is cranky, lacks the quality and virtue of a teacher, what he/she teaches is not clear to him/herself would not demand my respect. However I do not say that a teacher with teacher like disposition only and do not share his/her ideas with the students and he/she is just a typical teacher also receives not my heartfelt respect. For I believe teachers are like the water of a fountain that it never stops at any particular but keeps on changing whether change of weather and climate.

Hello krajibg
I also wanted to say in the same way as you are.If respect someone it will be always. There is no time limit that can change your thought about him.But if we don't respect our teacher because of his not well teaching or his carelessness towards students. Then instead we can't misbehave to them as they still are our teacher. So I just wanted to say that is it true that you don't really respect some of your teachers but just doing show off respect in front of them.

Yes, I always try to respect all my teachers and lecturers. Even if they didn't teach me properly. Even if they didn't give me good grade. Even if they are "the killer one".
Well, I will try my best to greet them every time I meet. They are a teacher after all. They deserve our good manner
Of course, deep in my heart, I would have different level of respect to different teachers. But after all, just greet them, and doing another friendly things - I think that is not really hard at all.. :D

Well, maybe you are right - it is not the true respect.:D
But I believe we can't easily change what lies inside our deepest heart.
True respect comes from sincere heart - and it is hard to "manipulate" our heart.
I mean, frankly said, how can we respect someone that behave bad?
So, then, they deserved our good manner, because they are teachers anyway. But they can't get our true respect - in order to get that, someone have to do something that we like, right?
Can we give true respect to everyone?
I believe, nope. Even if it is our president, if he does bad things, then how come we give him our true respect?

Hello fanta
Its very good that your child do respect of teachers.
But in my case I don't have such feelings from my inner self. When I used to go to them for asking any question, they usually tell us to not disturb them then how can I show true respect to them as even I don't behave rude to them either as they are my teachers indeed.

Well I always try to respect teachers in the classroom and with my work, but to be honest there aren't a whole lot of teachers that I think deserve any level of respect. I felt that way a whole lot in high school, there were just so many teachers who didn't seem to like their jobs or even us. They were just tossing bussywork at us and never taking the time to really teach. I feel that way sometimes here at college too.

Hello ally
Yes I has gone same as your condition that many teachers are just doing time pass. They never thought that they are not just passing time, they are playing with students' future. Those students who don't have much money come in these government colleges and these teachers just make their study worst.
So how can I respect them.

Just respect every individual. We live in this world that one day, we will still be in help and get to cross someone's path and who knows, one day even if you don't expect, that person will help you. It is just a matter of how to get along well with others, not because of how they treat you but because you believe that you can do better and show others that no matter what people tried to do you wrong, you still don't act like them because you are more understanding.
In this way you level yourself more and you will be treated better too. People who care less will also expect the same thing. That is what it means throwing bread instead of stone.

I never do anything wrong to them because I know whatever the fact they are my teachers and elder to me.But I can't respect them in true manner.

Hello topferr
As in your condition, like in PhD research all teachers are kind of very helping. They discuss, ask and gives solutions. You said they are like friends. Those are really respectable. But at my time in high school there was many teachers who never think to help besides they even don't teach us properly. So thats why they are not respectable.

Luckily for me I was blessed by 90% of good teachers. In my first course in college it was also a government school but generally I can say good things about the teachers there save for one who almost cause me to drop a subject in Physics because of her strange way of teaching. The other teachers and those in charge already know the complaints about her every school year but since there is a shortage of teachers who teach this subject I decided to drop her subject while my grades are not affected and take the night classes where I found just the right one to learn from.

I got your sense by almost.I think you also don't respect all your teachers by somehow.Giving sometimes respect is just for showing,it is completely fake.True respect never reduces.

I do very much respect my teachers, they are our tools in life, plus they also give us our grades. However, I also try to avoid them, even current teachers. I don't enjoy awkward conversations that have no meaning because both parties have nothing to talk about as it was just a coincidence you ran into each other. Similarly, I try to avoid old classmates who I was never close with but were very good acquaintances as I really don't know what to converse about.

Hello way2vision
Yes it is true that teachers are those who teaches us and leads us to our goal in life.Everything we learn, most of them are with the help of them. But what should we do if any teacher does not perform his basic job that is to teach his student.
Yes we do not like to talk with them whom with we are not comfortable. But there is other question that I avoid my teacher because I don't want to give them my fake respect.

Well in my school, there's lots of people who disrespect their teachers. It depends on the teacher, if you're nice, funny and know how to teach then the students will leave you alone. Now, if you were rude, can't teach and have no idea what you're doing, no doubt the students are going to take you down. That's how my school works, I don't show my rudeness, I try to be polite as possible but I have a business teacher who's just nuts who can't teach anything and no one likes her in the class. All the bold girls would just talk back to her and they'll be in a heated argument. Me and my friends just seat back and watch. It depends on the teacher and their personality.

Hello triple
Yes,I agree with you that it is happening now a days.Teachers are just doing their job for earning. They don't like very much to make students better. But I think teachers have the very great responsibility to make the future of students.

Being a teacher isn't about grades. It's about being who you are. No book can teach you how to cry with your students. No class cant teach you how to tell a family that their child have failed. No professor cant teach you how to find dignity in giving someone an advice. A teacher is not about the pen, or the board. It's about being able to love students when they are at their weakest moments.... GOD BLESS U TEACHER!

there are teachers that you can't avoid respecting despite their attitude and their !@%^ talk, respect isn't about the absolute level between teachers and students, but it can also be the bond between you two, or how you rely to him/her.
there are two kinds of respect for me:
The respect due to love: you respect him/her because of love (not literally the relationship between two opposite gender. Well you get it)
The respect due to Fear: respecting someone fearing that there is a consequence in your every action.
But really i dont respect 1 out of about 11 teachers, well a bit of respect sometimes.

For sure, I do respect them. I have to remember that they taught me something good one day. If I didn't like them for sure it is better to avoid them without hurting them.
