Ugh, I'm pretty much done with mystery shopping.

I had applied the other day for over 70 phone shop assignments for one company hoping to get at least a few.
Every time I've applied for them when they've come up, I've been denied.
They claim that preference goes to those who can do multiple assignments, but that seems to be an utter lie.
I came home yesterday to a whack of emails from the company. They were ALL denials!
Do you blame me for not wanting to even try anymore?
I could have made some good money, but this clearly was not to happen.
I guess I'll have to find another company or give up on it completely. I'm not sure what to do right now.

I have done loads of telephone mystery shops and have not been denied yet. I did not even get the very first one denied, so maybe it is the particular company that has perhaps higher rating standards? Although the ones I have used don't use the ratings as a per-requisite. Applying to new companies is a pain but it does give you more opportunities. Because we don't live in the same location maybe it differs between us with the companies.

I have never mystery-shopped before, and from what I've heard from various people in Canada and the United States, I don't plan to start either. There are legitimate ones out there, but there are too many scams, and deniers to really make it worthit. those annoying people make it harder for the legitimate people to get shoppers.

I just started doing mystery shopping last week and it seems to be going ok. I did do one phone shop and I won't do that again. I don't know if I want to go through that. I enjoyed most of the shops that I did, but I think I will be much pickier now since I found that some of them weren't really worth the time spent on them. I have canceled some of the lower paying ones or ones that had high expenses since I don't have much money to make purchases with and I can't afford to spend lots of money and hope that they accept my shops. What company had you gone through? I really like the first one I signed up with. I hope you found a good one. Have a great weekend!!!

I was skeptical about mystery shopping. I was assigned to shop an apartment complex. I was to carry a hidden camera and an audio device that they would provide but, they would only pay $15.00-$27.50 per assignment and I would be responsible for any damages to the devices. I wasn't sure if it was worth it. Now that I think about it, would the better business bureau have a list of companies that they can send out?

I never understood how you make any money doing mystery shopping. It always sounds to good to be true...

I enjoyed mystery shopping at brick and mortar stores, but it can be few and far between. I really don't do it anymore because of gas prices unless I can justify doing it by running several other errands at the same time.

That is really frustrating. I have not tried on those types yet. Of course they do not offer that many around here. Most of the shops lately would cost me $8 or more in gasoline, so it is not worth it to me. I almost do not apply, unless there is a big bonus for it.

In an attempt to help me earn extra money I tried applying for mystery shopping work. The company made me sign up several pages of questionnaire and give me an hour of testing. They say they will contact me as soon as something come up. It was an absolute waste of time since they have gave me an assignment to eat in one restaurant with my own money and create an evaluation based on the form that they gave me. They also asked me to send this via fax. There was no answer not even an Email to thank me for my efforts. You are correct on giving up on such offers.

I enjoy mystery shopping, although I have never tried phone shopping. You have to be connected with a good organization because a lot of these businesses are scams. I got lucky with the first one I joined. Unfortunately, I don't remember there name or there web address. Try the Mystery Shoppers Association.
