What the Heck???

Okay, a couple years ago I wrote an article for Associated Content about my experience with a local floor store. They bought the article and I was pleased. Well, today I received a notice of a comment on my article so I checked it out. It was from the guy who did the actual work on my floor. I was stunned! This guy not only was defensive, he blatantly lied!!! He claimed that he had had to "clean" my floor before working on it and that it was such filth that he had to clean "cat feces" and such! I had cleaned that floor before he came and believe me! There were never any cat feces in my kitchen! Granted, Smoky has pooed on my carpet in my sewing room and even in one corner of the living room and he has peed in the kitchen which we immediately cleaned up but this was before he ever came into our lives. I didn't even have Smoky at the time this guy put in my floor! I just do not understand how anyone can tell such bald-faced lies like that! I had been nice to him and had not even named him in my article...he fixed that courtesy by identifying himself in his comment. He even went so far as to claim that his daughter had come to my house on a service project with our church and there had been cat poo in the kitchen then, which caused him to refuse to let her come again. I talked to my friend about this and asked her point blank if my house was really that bad. She assured me that it is not. I am a good housekeeper...or, at least, I was before I became disabled and had a teenager who doesn't care about the house. My house is a work in progress but it is progressing but it is not as bad as all that! I just do not understand why anyone would tell such a blatant lie like that!!! I guess his pride was wounded but I was not criticizing him, I was criticizing the store! I felt that I had been severely overcharged for the little that he did. He did not fix the soft spots at all and that was what I mainly wanted done. I assumed that he was just following orders so I had no complaint about him...just the store. But for him to lie like that...there is nothing I hate more than a lie. You?
