I have heard this, that Ronaldo said this and I wasn't surprised at all. He is a player who has too much self esteem, he thinks he is the best player in the world and he maybe likes to be hated more than liked. There are players who like to be hated, as the negative reactions motivates them more. I never liked Ronaldo because of his attitude, but I think he is a good player, but I wouldn't want him at my favorite team never.

He was brought up in the Sporting first squad by Boloni Laszlo, who has given him credit at a very young age. Only after that Ferguson has signed him.

I think that is Ronaldo for you. He is arrogant, brash and narcissist, but he knows what to do with a football at his feet. That is why he has required managers like Sir Alex and Mourinho to really blossom as he needs a strong manager to really keep him focused on the game.
That is why I like Messi better as he is humble and down to earth person in comparison to Ronaldo.
Cheers!

He's indeed rich, really rich because of the amount of money he earned over the years. When one is rich and has talent, he can afford to say whatever he wants. He's always a victim from rash tackles even from the time he's at man united. The same goes for lionel messi but nobody ever heard him complaining or whining about it. Ronaldo just wants attention, more attention, like his former manager, jose.

I think that Ronaldo has such a poor attitude for a player he is far to big headed i think that is why a lot of people prefer Messi because he is a better player and he has a better attitude. Ronaldo was the same when he played in the English premiership he was always moaning about the tackling so players hit him harder. Ronaldo also doesnt pass enough that is also a sign of arrogance.

That's true and I think that's why Manchester united sold him because Alex Ferguson doesnt like big egos. At Manchester united no one man us bigger than the team that's why there so successful.

adhyz82,
In the first place, he is the most sought after player on and off the field. On the field, I am sure he is the most dangerous player and in this game, he will be tightly marked for sure.
So, it is just part of the game that the Zagreb players will be on him once he has possession. I don't find his remarks anything demeaning or narcissistic except maybe to make a side remark to the harsh treatments he got from the players.
I am calling this gamesmanship which is also part of the game as far as professional soccer is concern.

adhyz82,
One can say anything when engaging in gamesmanship. He is just directing away the unnecessary attention or misdirected words which might cause misunderstandings.
I have to say that Brad Pitt had need to learn from him for what he did in the recent interview which caused a big mess.

I don't know him personally. There's a chance he is a nice guy who is merely misunderstood by the media. I think arrogance is part of having a strong personality. If you think of all the world's best players (Maradona, Pelé, etc) they all had such unfortunate comments.
