It's a cute funny little discussion. Well, Christmas is still far, yet it is fast approaching. I just want to throw some questions about you my beloved mylotters? Are you excited for Christmas? What are those things that excites you during Christmas? Or for those who did not celebrate Christmas, Can you tell me why?
I'm always looking forward for Christmas. For me, it is the time of rejoicing with the people I loved. The true essence of Christmas is not just to be merry but we also will look back to what is the reason why we celebrated Christmas. Do you remember that Jesus Christ came to this world to saved us? That's the true essence of Christmas. I hope that you will not forget the true meaning of Christmas.
Hmmmm.. I really like Christmas. It is a time of Joy.

I am not excited if it comes to Christmas. It's not habit over here to give each other presents and we are not religious so we don't go to church.
To us Christmas is the celebration of light into the dark, that is why we light candles. Also it is for us a very relaxing time. Frequently we all have a pyama day (or days) and we watch old movies. No stress, no hurry, no need to cook something special. Bread is fine too.
This year Christmas we will be in Africa again (just like the year before).
BTW what the true meaning of Christmas is, is not what you say about jesus, christmas was already celebrated long before, exactly at the same date! The Christmas tree is also a way older habit.
To everyone christmas means something different. The only thing I don't like about Christmas is that christian thought behind it. How come so many can only be friendly to an other or helpful during Christmas and not the whole year through? It's a pity so many need a celebration day to remind them to something.

yep, Christmas is supposedly a time of joy. but sometimes the spirit is dampened by commercialization. it is supposed to be a celebration of the birth of Jesus who was born in a manger. and yet people spend lavishly. it's all about market and business. i can't really feel at times the spirit.

Christmas has always been an exciting season for me. I think this occasion is always most awaited and always the most special as far as I am concerned. Once the BER months start then I am starting to get excited and already thinking of ideas to make the upcoming Christmas celebration of my family joyful as ever.

I love it when Christmas comes, all the stores start stocking up in Christmas gifts and all the houses start their Christmas decorations. I love it when I'm driving in the streets at night and the whole street is lit up with really beautiful and glittering Christmas lights. And you;ll see Santa Claus taking photos with kids as well. It's a glorious period where everyone gathers for family dinners and celebrations! I can't wait for Christmas, just a few more months! I wished it snowed in Australia, that would make Christmas heaps better!

Hi bessyjanmayi
Yes I am very much excited for Christmas . But don't you think it would be too early thinking of Christmas as there are 3 months left in between . Christmas is a time for real fun. The one thing I love the most are Christmas parties.
I am also curious about the new year as it will be 2012 and I have many hopes from this new year. Hope it would bring happiness in all humans life.
Fingers crossed.

I absolutely love Christmas. This time of year it's on my mind quite a bit, and I actually bought a Christmas gift earlier today. I couldn't say which part about it that I like most. I love Christmas music; I love the colors of Christmas; I love the shopping and the weather and the people and the lights and decorations and food and... But you're right. The most important thing about it is that Jesus' birthday is celebrated then. That's the peace of Christmas and the real joy in it.

It is a pretty time of year with all the decorations and lights up. We usually all get in the car and go around and look at the lights people have up. The Mall is usually very nicely decorated too. Hot cider and some decorations and its a nice time for all. I enjoy some things about Christmas.

Yes. I'm a little excited about Christmas. I'm sort of a practical joker. My family members know me and I know them. I buy gifts people can laugh about. I like to see the joy in their faces. I think seeing that joy is a lot better than receiving gifts. This might not be the true essence of Christmas but it is one way I can express the love I have for my family.
Some of my family members fast on Christmas Eve so we don't normally have a large meal on Christmas Eve. I visit people I won't see on Christmas then I attend midnight mass with my parents.

I am not a excited for Christmas! I dislike Christmas and have for along time! To me it have become extremely commericalized and continues to! They push the season earlier and earlier! I am sick of it! The true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Christ. so many of us have forgotten that! This is one reason I hate Christmas! The other big reason is I have had some lousey Christmases! So I do not look forword to Christmas!

Not that excited because in here Christmas is not celebrated since it is not a Christian nation, second I am more excited giving birth a month before Christmas. We just don't focus on occasion, everyday should be a giving day because Christ came and saved us. I just don't understand why most Christians just forget that it is not only that festive season that we should be looking forward to. It is not only Christmas that we should be joyful and sharing, it should be everyday.
It has been a pagan practice already, especially if you do include the red guy in a suit in your decoration especially introducing it to your kids which I will never ever do.

Christmas to me is the best time of the year to give back to the children that deserve more than we had when we were younger. Its too bad to see some of the negative attitudes around Christmas time. How I do hope some kids grow out of their greedy stages and can be happy with the true meaning of Christmas.

I know that it is still a couple months away from the big day, but you have to start saving up money and making plans for what you want to do on the day. I always ask people for lunch around this time of year if there is anyone who I specifically want to come, because I need to know how much food I will need to order and if I need anything else for the day, such as additional seats, I will be able to sort it out well in advance so that I don't have to be stressed when the day is just a couple of weeks away if I were to wait until December.

Just like you I`m looking forward for Christmas. For me it`s the best time of the year. The Christmas Tree, the tasty food.. everything it`s special, but my favourite part it`s when I see my family to open their gifts and to see their smiles.I save my money to buy the tings that my family can`t afford and things that they don`t expect to see under the Christmas tree. When they open their gifts and see what is it they`re so happy and smile. There is tears in their eyes...tears of happiness.I just love to watch and enjoy of these moments =]

I love seeing houses decorated for the holidays, but it tends to be a very stresful time of year. We are either traveling, and traveling with a small child is not always easy, or we are getting the house ready for family to visit us.
I do enjoy watching my daughter experience the holiday with wide eyed wonder.

Christmas best days in the year. I myself dont celebrate Christmas because I'm Muslim, but i respect christmas very much, and even for me those are best days in year. There are many reasons for that. Good movies are on TV all the time. Its usually snowy here in Bosnia and Herzegovina. And when you get out in night and see those christmas trees in other people and its snowing when you look into a lamp that light can be seen long down the streets... even thinking about it makes me happy

I agree! Christmas is awesome! I love spending time with my family! especially those who live in a difference province ! I cant wait for this Christmas! It is going to be my daughters second Christmas but she was born at the end of Novemeber and was only 26 days old on Christmas so she just slept thru it :( But man she got so spolied! she got way more stuff than I ever did !
I love going to Church on Christmas Eve and watching all the Choirs and just being reminded about the true reason! and thats what makes Christmas so much more special!
