a problem with windows 7

I have a laptop with windows 7 on, and some of the games i play on it are displayed in a different resolution why is this? i have tried the compatability trouble shooter but still have the same problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions?

it's because your game supports less resolution only.. most of the games plays in 800*600 and then if you have high graphics memory you can change it from gaming options.. but it consumes high processing power and more memory.. you should have graphics card and also faster processor too.

my laptop is not old at all it has a graphics card I was looking for a sensible solution not one where I would spend lots of money you idiot.

like in Y8 or Y3, they are really made in low resolution. but then perhaps the games you are playing like gamehouse are also in low resolution. can you give me some of the games you are playing i use win7 also maybe i can help you

like command and conquer 3, football manager 2007. I got command and conquer to work full screen now all i had to do was run the program and change the resolution in the game settings.

I don't have Windows 7 on y computer but the computers where I work just had them installed. I hate it! I have problems playing games ,too! It has gottan to the piont I only play on my home PC. It takes to long and it is extremely frustating when I am on break at work!

I also have this problem. I can't properly play StarCraft 2, you know, BroodWar. I've also tried everything, compatibility mode, lower the resolution, but to no avail. Maybe, there are games that just doesn't render properly on Windows 7.
