For those mylotters who live outside of The United States, are your earnings in American money or the currency of your own land? For instance every day, when you check earnings, is it in American cents? When you get paid, does it go to paypal or another site? And is it American dollars or converted into the currency of your country?
These questions came to mind earlier as I was walking to my supermarket. I never have thought about it but all of a sudden, it was in my mind. So why not ask it?

Although I live in the US, it does not matter which country one lives in as myLot is a US based site therefore, the earnings page will be listed as US currency/dollars.
Since we only earn via PayPal, no matter what country the member is in it will be transferred as US dollars to PayPal. However I am not sure after they transfer them to their own banks if it is US dollars and or euros for example. That I would be interested to see if anyone gets it differently once transferred to their bank and or credit cards.

HWG: It depends on the country of the member as to how he is using it. For example in usa you are permitted to retain the balance in paypal and then spend it for buying commodities. Also it can be transferred to another person's account. We were doing like that in India also a year ago. Recently restrictions or regulations of our central bank the amount is credited to our bank account immediately in indian rupees.

As a US member I do not get charged fees for keeping it in PayPal and or transferring it to my bank.
I just checked PayPal and it says:
"It's free* when you use your PayPal balance or your bank account linked to your PayPal account. There is a charge of"
3.4% + £0.20 GBP*
for debit or credit card payments
(either the sender or recipient can pay this fee).
I was so sadden last year when all the rules changed for Indian members.

Yeah did look weird then I went back it and it says, that is when it is converting from US dollars to other country and that case it was UK. Does that make sense. Since I have never converted not sure what I am looking at in terms of money value?

bostonphil: I come from India. Our earnings are credited to our paypal account in dollars. Now as per RBI directives these amounts are converted to Indian rupees and transferred to our bank accounts immediately. Yes. it is subject to commission on account of conversion to our currency and thereafter they do not charge any amount for transfer to bank.

bostonphil: It is not so. Nowadays dollar is not that very stronger. Indian rupees converted from dollars will not get us anything considerable. With 1 $ you can have one time snacks in a lower level hotel.

The dollar must be pretty strong in India. And strong when compared to rupees? So when you and others from India get your mylot earnings, it goes far.

I love it that mylotters from all over the world are answering my discussion.
The Canadian economy and cost of living must be equal to that in The United States. Thus, your earnings from mylot probably buys you what we Americans would be able to use it for.
In some parts of the world, mylot earnings must go a long way while in other parts of the world, mylot earnings possibly does not buy too much.

Hi,
Everyday I see my earnings in American dollars.I am so used to this that I would be a little surprised if I suddenly found I have started earning in Indian rupees. When I get my payment it is sent to Paypal in US dollars.I accumulate my earnings there and then withdraw the earnings from various sites stored in Paypal to my bank account. It is only then that the money gets converted into my local currency.

The American Dollar must be strong in India. Your mylot earnings must go a long way. That is not true in other countries especially Europe. The dollar was very weak when compared to Euros although I think that it is catching up.

I am always learning something on mylot. I am glad that the value of the dollar has come back up. We are having our ups and downs in this country.

You're in Greece? Is Euros now your currency? The dollar is not very strong when converted to Euros. Even when a dollar is still a bill, it still does not buy too much these days even in The United States.

You are in The Czech Republic. Our dollar is probably pretty strong over there and maybe goes farther than in some other places.
I love that people on mylot are all over the world. It's truly an international site.

You are in The Philippines. Correct? So The American Dollar is strong over there and your mylot earnings will go far just like in India. It is a different story in Europe.

Somehow, there was a glitch and you got a duplicate comment. Sorry about that.

Your profile says that you are in Czech Republic but you say that you are from Philippines. The dollar goes far there.
Welcome to mylot. it's a great site. Happy mylotting.
