Many of us have different experiences of rain. Some are happy, some are tragic. For me, it is an experience of a blessing.
When I was small, during rainy season, I used to play in the rain. With my brothers we played full of fun and laughter enjoying the splashing of water on our faces, running to the down spout where the water is flowing profusely.
When we go home from school, if it is raining, we asked somebody to bring our things so that we can play and bathe in the rain. The muddy road was just one of the thrill we had .Heavily soaked and dripping with water, removing our shoes, we went running barefoot, feeling the earth under our feet.We didn't mind the dangers of lightning.
I had so much fun that every time there is rain, I can't help but remember the happy memories of my childhood. Of course when we reach home, our mother would be worried to death because she was afraid that we might get colds. Thank God, i never catch colds.:-)
Nowadays, very seldom that I could see children playing in the rain.

indeed.. at this time.. we don't often see children playing in the rain.. this is maybe because they do not consider it interesting.. they are scared of getting sick and they also prefer staying at home and playing online games or surfing the net. This clearly shows that the generation has been changing.. However, i still want to go back at the time when i used to play under the rain. It feels so good especially when you are with your friends..It so sad that children nowadays could not experience what i have experienced. It is one of the most enjoyable and unforgettable moment in life.

I agree with you. Our time has changed so much. We used to appreciate the little discoveries we have in our environment and we are allowed to explore the thing we find interesting.
Children these days may have other entertainment because of technology but there is always a chance to share with them the good memories we have of our younger years.

Yes, I used to play in the rain a lot as a child. There was even a time that after the rain, I found a toadstool mushroom and ATE IT! There was also a time during my teens that I asked one of my best friends to sit in the rain with me. It was fun, as she hadn't bathed in the rain since she was a child, by then. :)
Rain reminds me of an innocent time. It is also a time to think and to wax poetic. I think of it as a time to drink tea or coffee. It's also a time to write. I love the feeling that the rain gives me. :)

I have both bad and good experiences with the rain. When i was child me and my siblings would enjoy bathing under the rain and just playing. My mother never got angry when we do. She was never worried that we might get sick. She just tells us not to go out unless it's a heavy downpour, then she would give us a bottle of shampoo and a bar of soap.
With regards to the bad experience i would like to keep it to myself as i don't want to recall it.

For me, childhood was a very long time ago. I don't remember much about playing in the rain, but I do have memories connected with the rain. In the first house I remember we had a fireplace. Whenever it rained, my mother used to pop corn over the fire in one of those box-shaped poppers with a long handle. To this day I associate rainy weather with popcorn, and I crave it when we have a heavy rain.
When I was in elementary school we had very poor drainage in our part of town. Our street and neighboring streets became like lakes and rivers, and we had to take our shoes off coming home from school or we would get them wet.
When my son was about 11, we had a huge rain storm and we wanted to collect the rain from the gutter spouts. I still remember him in his yellow poncho, reveling in moving the barrels to fill them up. He was so happy in the rain and so proud of himself for collecting all that water.
I still love rain. I even wrote a Squidoo lens called "The Blessings of Rain" and it's full of rain related music videos. I also work best at writing when it's raining -- unless the power goes out and the computer has to be turned off.

That's a great rain-related story.:-)A story of mother-daughter and a mother-son bonding relationship.A memory that form part of our cherished childhood memories.
They can make us young at heart and make us wish to be young again,at least in my experience.:-)
Young and the 'ones young' have unique memorable experiences of rain that as we mature, we reminisce them in our heart.
