I gave notice the other day after nearly 3 yrs of service. Truthfully, I was overdue to leave when I began to receive more work from private clients, which is more money. Then I began getting their little blog excerpts in my box that sounded sometimes like they were written by a child.
For most of my time there, I held a "4" ranking but truthfully, there was no great difference in the jobs, maybe .02 per word more. Even when I was qualified to be a "5" writer, where there's supposed to be a big difference in pay, they found a way to not promote me again.
Anyway, the final straw was when they evaluated some of those 100-word projects (I like to do these when I want a break from larger assignments) I did recently. I received my first "3" in a long time because I forgot a keyword but some of these evaluations were rough and some even had no explanation. When I inquired about this, their response was that they did not have to give a full explanation. Although I've taken on a great deal of work in recent, typos are rare for me but punctuation errors have never been graded so harshly. So I said see ya (after making my final withdrawal).

Hi Jswindell, it is good to have a break from Textbroker, since you are so stressed out by the system.
Since you have enough work from private clients, there is no need to fight for assignments with other new writers.
I think you just let the account be.
Maybe you will return to Textbroker a few years later.

Hi,
They never paid enough money for me to get seriously stressed, I leave that up to salaried jobs (LOL).
I closed the account so that I would no longer received those annoying blog posts that came from their e-zine/newsletter.
Also, if you knew the assignment intake system, it is one of the better ones of all the content companies. They were one of the few people that helped me early on and it was time to move on.
Of all the things that I picture for myself "years later", back-sliding to write for pennies is not one of them. This is not to disrespect anyone who does this and has to call it a life.
