I was speaking with my friend on the phone around 2am. He said that he'll just get a water first so I waited for him. I heard his footsteps and as he walked away since he need to go to the kitchen. After about 30 seconds, I heard a whisper saying "Hello". Its a very faint voice and a creepy one. It is like saying "Hello" without a voice but just only air that you can hear. I can't answer back since I'm scared so I just listened to voice, I heard for 3 times. Then I heard my friend's foot steps and he answered the phone already. I told him what happened and he said that he's alone. His siblings are already upstairs. That's the creepiest phone call that I have. Can you share a creepy phone call that you received?

hi chiwasaki oh yes that was creepy indeed.yes I got this call and the man shouted in a Spanish accent, Rita I Know you are there, lady get Rita to the phone;I told him again that I was npt Rita nor was Rita living with me. He called me a liar so I just hung up. a few minutes later I got another wrong number call, hello is Alonzo there with you mom? if so call the police . I first said I am not your mom and you have the wrong number.but tell me is your name Rita by any chance and theres a very angry man calling here looking for you ? I was not surprised when she said yes I am Rita and Alonzo is my ex. is your phone number blah blah blah. and I told her almost but my number has 7067 and yours has 6067 so she promised to write it down that mine was a wrong number. I have often hoped that this rude Alonzo never caught up with her. I called the phone company about this A lonzo dude but all they dould do was tap my line but fortunately he never called me againl he really did scare me too.

That's the only phone call that was creepy to me. I'm guessing it was a practical joke. To scare my friend and me as well. Haha

chiwasaki, Other than sticking to your theory of the paranormal, I think you should consider this to be nothing but another practical joke attempt by your friend. There are really many explanations here, so you should think less of it, for one - there are so many other people in that house this spook can say hello to, I do not know why it had to choose you. With so many sound effects technology available at our disposal - who is to say that it is some playback recording of some kind here. Pranksters like your friend on this instance, is no exception. Also, if this is really paranormal, I believe it would travel through the phone line and appear right before your eyes when it is so interested in you than just say hello to you. Why not? It is creepy only when you deem it through your baseless "fear" - so think nothing of it.

The moment I heard it, it was really creepy. But you are right, it must have been his joke or his siblings joke. But my friend seems to be more scared of what happened, so I'm guessing its probably his siblings.

That does sound creepy. I'd have been freaked out, but maybe it was just one of his family members if not him, himself. It could have also been your imagination. His house could be haunted though, you never know. Will you tell him about it?

I told him about it right after he returned from their kitchen. He seems very scared when I tell him what happened. Probably one of his siblings playing joke on us. But it was still creepy. Haha

Yeah I would have been totally freaked out too. I have never had this happen to me but I hope it never does. What did your friend have to say about it after you told him? What he creeped out too?

Hi amanda! After I told him what I heard, he thinks that I'm just playing jokes on him. He was silent for a bit and decided that he wants to sleep already. I'm not really sure but the next day, he told me that he was really scared. Haha

I love how men try to act tough to your face when you know they are like a teddy bear inside. Hey at least he finally admitted that he was scared

Wow that did sound really creepy!! But did you ask your friend if he had another connection of the phone upstairs? His siblings may have received the phone upstairs and was playing around? Except that I have no explanation for that in my head. And no I have never received any creepy phone calls!

We are using the home phone during that time. Though it was really creepy, it was probably an extension phone that they are using. They must have heard that we are still using the phone so late.

That's what I was thinking. It's just the sort of thing a sibling would do. I remember when I had a brother at home ten years younger than me. He certainly would have been capable of this. Of course, if it was a mobile phone call, we'd have to exclude this explanation and say your friend was playing a trick.

I feel that you were under some kind of hallucination at that time and it may be just figment of your imagination. I did not face any such situation in life.

I'm sure it is not a figment of my imagination. But what I'm thinking is probably it was a joke from one of his siblings. They must have used the extension phone upstairs. Haha

Back before we had cell phones we had party lines. More than one family used one line and would get different rings for their phone. So my friend and I used to make joke phone calls to people just picking them out of the phone book. One day we called a number and a guy answered. We said our funny spill like 'Is your refrigerator running?' Something like that. Well we got our laugh and hung up. Afew seconds later we get a ring on our phone. We answer it and it is the same guy. 'Were you just playing on the phone?" Uh,well ah.........!! He must have been on our party line.

Haha it sounds very funny and interesting. I want to do that too but I think I'm too old for that. I received such phone calls before. Those questions that are seems to be out of this world.

Oh, my...I hope that was a crossed line or someone joking with you! Otherwise this could be a job for Ghostbusters! Crossed lines have happened often to me. One time I was chatting to my girlfriend at length on the phone about boyfriends and one in particular who had broken my heart. I complained viciously about him and mentioned several times that his actions were due to the fact that his star sign was Leo. After a while a male voice cut into our conversation and when my friend and I asked who it was the male voice said, ‘My name is Keith and I am very glad I am not a Leo!” We had no idea who this Keith was; apparently he was working late in an office building in the city, picked up the phone to make a call and got us instead! He decided to eventually let us know he had been listening...Not creepy, but strange in a fun sort of way.

Party line? Haha that was fun as well. Are you still friends with that Keith? Good thing he admits that he listened to your conversation. Some will probably take the chance to scare the two of you.

Hi Jazel! I prefer it to be a prank instead of a joke. Haha I just want to think that I was just a victim of a prank. I don't want to think about ghost because I'm quite scared on that part. Haha!

That was a practical joke and clearly not a ghost or an elf. When something happens I don´t like over the phone, I hang up right then, at the first time. If my friend wants to call back, let him do it. I´m sure that if it wasn´t him, it was one of his siblings.
19 Sep 11
i think it sounds like a practical joke too lol!! .. your friend probably did it? or maybe you got another call coming through? that can happen sometimes!

i can see why it was probably scary at the time though.. but atleast you can laugh now and realise there is an explanation probably.. lol what did your friend think about it?

Maybe he is trying to scare you. I always do prank calls. When we have a party at our house, we always do prank calls. We would call someone and scare or trick them. I never had a creepy phone call yet.

Hi huilichan! We usually talk late at night because his shift ends very late already. We always talk to each other in the phone since he's in a very difficult situation. Her mom is very sick and he feels pressured at work.

Perhaps one of his siblings is trying to scare you away but if it is not his sibling, then that is really scary. You have to ask your friend to have the house blessed if he or any members of his family do experience other scary happenings.

Hi chiwasaki! I read your post last night as I was about to sleep but after reading your post, I decided not to sleep yet and just watched something just to forget your post. That was really creepy! That was in fact, scary. Maybe your friend was just pulling your leg? Or any of his siblings? Who could have it been except for them, right? I have never had a creepy phone call. I can imagine how I would react if I got your creepy "hello" caller. I would be surprised and for sure the cellphone will fall from my hand or I might just let go of it. Worst, I might throw it away.

Hi secret bear! We are using the home phone during that time. I was a bit scared but I don't want to think it was scary. So I listened very carefully and the voice saying "hello" is very clear. I'm sure it was not my friend but probably the younger siblings.

Hi kkanaka! I did not disconnect the line, I want to make sure that what I heard is real. I don't believe ghosts can actually talk. So I'm thinking that someone played a joke on us.

Hi, chiwasaki. Oh, that is pretty creepy, I must say! If this wasn't your friend and he was telling the truth, then something strange is certainly going on here. If I were your friend, it would have spooked me completely out to know about something scary as this. Either it was a frequency through the telephone line or a spirit that is haunting the telephone line. I am so glad that you did not answer back, because you just may just never know what feedback you may could have received in the end.

I read all the other posts, my question is how long have you known your friend? Is he the type that does jokes or have family members known to be pranksters? If your answer is no to the above questions then that's creepy, wait, are you sure no other signal crosses with he's or your phone?

He's the type of person who is very serious. He don't play jokes and he's not a funny person at all. I'm sure he did not do it. So I'm guessing one of his siblings probably do it. Haha

Hi chiwasaki.. As creepy as that does sound.. Im pretty sceptical of the fact that it being a ghost LOL.. Isnt there any possibility your friend was playing a prank on you?.. I wouldnt go freaking yourself out friend.. Im sure there is a rational explanation for this 'spooky' experience... (",)

I was not that scared when I heard it. Though I feel that the voice is very creepy. I agree, there should be rational explanation about this. I'm sure it is not my friend who did it but his siblings probably.
