That is from the song "Great is thy Faithfulness," and this is from Lamentations 3:22-23. The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end, they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.

Full marks, Bagarad!
The history of the song and the lyrics, which are now just out of copyright are here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Is_Thy_Faithfulness
Like many English hymns, it is based on a passage from scripture. I don't know the tune but it's a very inspirational and memorable hymn which I hadn't come across before.
I have always thought the history of hymnody fascinating. I know that there are bits and pieces scattered all over the Internet (and other places) but I wonder if anyone has thought to collect them all together and to post a database of hymns, with their histories and, in particular, cross-references to the Biblical and other passages which inspired them.

Wow Owlwings! That is a greaT idea! Let us know if you decide to do it yourself! Something I would like to see and have wanted to for a veRy long time, is the Psalms of the Bible put to music.. wouldn't that be great to use Psalms as our very own hymn book!
