It's only 96 days to go before Christmas (I know I should have posted when it was still 100 days, but I have limited internet access particularly on weekends). Here in the Philippines, Christmas season begins with the coming of the "Ber" months. Bazaars are beginning to crop up in most places and the flea market "Divisoria" is already selling christmas decorations and gift items that the entire road is already covered with stalls.
I love Christmas season because it give us hope that the coming year will be better and because we all have our Christmas bonuses for future use, gift giving that we feel generous to our friends and family. There are always parties and gatherings to go to make us feel that we belong and appreciated.
How about you MyLotters, what do you look forward to this Christmas?

Days are fast approaching, we already feel the cold weather, and we always remember that the month ber its already christmas. When we say christmas this is the unforgettable moments that we have spent because this is the time that we share to each other, bonding with our family, giving gifts, eating delicious foods and having a party.

Yes, it's true that Christmas is just in the corner. Then you can really feel the breeze of December but I don't think most of the Filipinos are happy because of their bonuses.I beg to disagree that this is for the future use, most of the bonuses are consumed already because of the poverty in the Philippines.Parties are good for those who aren't having responsibilities in life and responsibilities for their family. It's good to remember that Christmas is coming but it's painful to accept that there are many poor and unhappy Filipinos.

pretty much everything has been said. Well some parts because I live in the US and I don't know if we celebrate it the same as over there. The days that I feel the Christmas feelings is the day after Halloween. The thing I look forward on Christmas days is gift/presents shopping with the family at night times. Our family nights are kinda boring every other year because when everyone comes home, they all do their own things. Except for Christmas seasons when Christmas presents/gifts shopping begins. Also, when its December we go buy the Christmas tree and decorate the whole house and tree (we used to do it late November but they started selling the Christmas trees late now a days). Still to me, even if I'm getting old, I still have those Christmas feelings. I used to have the Christmas feelings when I was young but grew to hating it because of my old age as I was getting old but my cousin got me into the Christmas feelings again. She is older than me and said there was no reason to feel down so yea. I have the Christmas feelings again haha.

It shows how much you like Christmas and you really look forward to it. To me, it is still a long time. Although the Christmas has become much more popular here, however, it is still not an official festival here. Namely we can't have a day off in this festival. So actually we can't really celebrate it well since we have to go to work anyway.
I love China

Yes, time passed so fast. It seems that we had just celebrated christmas 2010 and now christmas 2011 is coming. I guess most of us are looking forward for christmas. Bonuses are expected in November. There are times that it's already consumed before christmas. Christmas Seasons is a time for family reunions, class reunions and other kinds of affairs. We are looking forward to seeing our friends and relatives during this season.

Aside from gifts, I guess Christmas is my favorite time of the year because it gives family time to spend together as it is a holiday and enjoy each others company and of course the foods we serve on the Christmas table is special and bonding moments with love ones are plenty. The Christmas mass in our community also allows us to mingle and wish others Merry Christmas too and children and adults can enjoy the beautiful display of Christmas lantern and lights.

I cannot agree to you more on the bonus (thirteenth month pay). I am already looking forward to it as early as today. Also our company gives groceries for Christmas which always include ham and keso de bola (which saves us some money because these two products seems to be mandatory in every Filipino kitchen table during Christmas). Every year there is also a bazaar in the processing zone wherein our company is located. The products are of good quality since those are being imported and they are selling it in low prices. Also this would be my son's first Christmas. He would be almost 8 months old that time and hopefully he enjoys it.

I cannot believe that Christmas is so close, and it is making me think that I really should start to save up a little bit more money than I have been for the whole of the year so far. I have been concentrating on putting money into a special savings account for me to buy my first flat, and because of this it means that I have not been able to put any money aside for Christmas presents just yet. I am not sure what I want to buy for my friends and family yet, but I know that I should start thinking about it because there isn't all that much time to go at all before the big day.

It really does astound me how quickly this year has really gone. We are almost through with September and we are on the road to the holiday season, Christmas time is here. Halloween will be here before we know it and then everything goes from there. Lots of eating, lots and lots of eating, pretty much all of our diets(if you are on diet), will be shot.
I think that the best part of Christmas is that it is a rather relaxed time of the year. Where we get to enjoy it with friends and family. Granted, the insanity is going to pick up anew after the New Year, but that's just a part of life when you really think about it. I think that I am looking forward to all of the great music. That is one of my favorite parts of the holiday season. Just seems like yesterday Christmas was happening last year.

HI,
I look forward to the nostalgic and warm feelings of Christmas. I also look forward the most to seeing my family. I also like to surprise my family with unique gifts that are tailored towards them. Even though my son is college aged now, I still enjoy seeing his face when he opens his gifts.
