What is" Bermuda Triangle " actually and where is that region? There were a lot of news and stories related to it, some years back. Are there any facts behind it? Besides frequent hurricanes, lose of planes and ships, I think there was an oil layer problem on the sea surface in that region recently, due to the damage occurred to a petroleum exploration company. Is compass problem is real? Then what may be the science behind that mystery?

Gravitational pull of earth is not equal in all areas. It is weaker some places and stronger in other places. Many say that planes crash, and ships sink because of the very strong gravitational pull there. The strong gravitational pull also ruins the compass. But I am not really sure of those.I just read it online.

Besides variations in gravitational pull it said that there is variations in earth's magnetic force also. Both can affect mechanical equilibrium.Colompus had observed the mysterious compass malfunctioning even in 1492 [See response by Oldcheml3454].Science is not giving a satisfactory clarification even in the modern time. Let us hope!

I have read some articles about bermuda, and I couldn't decide which article explains the phenomenon best.I know there is a scientific explanation about this.

Incidentally the first report of strange occurrences in the area was in 1942 when Christopher Colombus reported compass malfunctions and a flaming fireball crashing into the sea.

If Colombus observed it in 1492 it is a mystery for centuries, especially malfunctioning of compass.I think even modern science has some troubles to explain it fully at present.Thank you for the information relating it to Christopher Colombus, the great name!

Haha, I just posted to this and the response what lost! Maybe it got lost in the bermudia triangle of the internet. I do beleive that this is a real thing. Not sure why or even how. But the truth of it yes. I have heard of ships and planes coming up missing in this place. As well as things loosing power and direction here. I have also wondered why we dont hear about it much anymore. Maybe because its old news and just another thing that has been talked about so much. Or there are just so many other modern day mysteries happening so its taken a back seat.

It is admitted that three is compass malfunctioning in that area.It was observed in 1492 by Colompus himself.[See responses].If there is variations in the earth's magnetic force it can affect so many modern systems.Science has to take it on account and to clarify.

I don't believe in the Bermuda Triangle, I think it's just a big sham. There were a lot of disappearance reported on that place but that's it. It's something they can't explain so they just dismissed it as having some supernatural ability.

I think science should clarify reality behind such sham or mystery. If there is malfunctioning of compasses which is said to be reported even from the time of Colompus, it is a matter to be considered seriously.

Compass problem indicates abnormality of the earth's magnetic force. It can effect many modern systems.Let us hope science will clarify and solve the problem.

The last recorded incident in the Bermuda triangle according to the website http://byerly.org/bt5.htm was in 2001; the website reports "COMAIR FLIGHT 5054 - Ice damage on the flight from Nassau to Orlando, Florida Washington, Mar 26 -- A Comair aircraft with 25 passengers on board rolled from side and side and dived steeply last week after the crew reported a build-up of ice on the aircraft, safety investigators said today. The aircraft landed safely in West Palm Beach, Florida, and no one was injured, but key tail components of the Brazilian-made Embraer-120 propeller-driven aircraft sustained serious damage, the National Transportation Safety Board said in a report on the Mar 19 incident. Comair Flight 5054 from Nassau, Bahamas, to Orlando, Florida, was at 18,000 feet when ice covered the aircraft's windshield. When the windshield was clear, the crew noticed a build-up of ice on components of the right engine and wing, the safety board said in its report. The crew turned on the aircraft's anti-icing systems to their highest settings. The aircraft, which had been travelling at 200 knots, began to lose speed, which could not be increased with more power and corrective maneuvers. The flight data recorder showed that while travelling around 130 knots the aircraft rolled to the left and almost back to level. The aircraft then rolled to the left again before almost leveling off and then to the right before coming back to near level once more. The EMB-120 then rolled sharply to its right and began a steep descent. According to the crew, a key flight instrument that delivers information about the vertical position of the nose was not working properly during the roll and dive. At 10,000 feet, the aircraft leveled off and was diverted to West Palm Beach. It landed without incident about 12 minutes after the rolling began. The crew reported the aircraft's systems, including its ice detection and anti-ice systems, functioned normally before the incident. "

It seems some mystery is there when a lot of identical incidents are occurring for many centuries.Let us hope that science will succeed to clear it so that loses including lives are prevented. This news says that it is active, thank you.

Yes, Bermuda Triangel is really one of the most mastery things on the earth,as well as Pyramids, Mayans etc. The science still has a longway to go. Human beings need to do more for the answers.
