Why is everyone so worried about the world ending?

As to why everyone is so worried about the world ending, sometimes I can't blame people. Just recently the History Channel aired some show (didn't watch it) about ten ways the world could end or something along that lines. No wonder some people get so paranoid about something happening when it's a show about world-destroying natural disasters, predictions by Nostradamus or the Mayan calendar or one thing or another. I guess some people just can't help but to keep thinking about it.

Who says everybody is worried about the world ending? I am not afraid of that and I also don't know anyone who is. This subject is also not very alive over here. Is it the ending of the world people are afraid of? Or is it the fact they can't control it? I think people who are afraid of that love to control everything in their life. They also don't like any other kind of changes. If the world ends it's fine with me since this has to be the way it has to be. And this already happend in history of the world ánd human being also before. What I am surprised most of all is that it looks as if the christians are most worried about it. How come? Shouldn't a person who believes in god be the last one who is worried since his believe makes him strong, self secure? How come it is always the opposite?

I don't worry that much about that matter but just in case it really happens i just pray to God that i will be with my family on that day so that we can hold on and hug together. I just don't want them to be out of my sight if the world will end. But i pray that it won't happen of course. Nobody wants to die i guess. I just don't mind about it.

Everyone is worried about the final days, because they are aware, many sins they have done. But, they can not leave sin. I agree with what you say.

I'm not afraid if the world ends :) and I'm not too worried about it. WE are all NOT that aware if doomsday comes knocking in our door. Only God would know when that would happen. All we can do is put our trust to the Lord and just pray :)

Some people believe that there is no ending and some believe and worried..Many people reject the truth that Gd will destroy the earth one day,but w do not know exactly because on God knows His plan... The only thing ,simple thing that God wants people to do is to know Him,believe through faith accept as Savior in their life...And so they are prepared any time, what the worlds happen.. Nothing to worry if you are saved,and because you will be with God one day in His time... But some still worry about anything ,they need to do something to be accomplish,and etc..But the important is that people is ready, and saved so times will come you will be in Heaven..

Natural calamities have been with man since time immemorial. They have been frequenting the face of the earth and disastrously affecting man's life and means of living. They are mankind's most feared foes, ravaging places at random with a certain degree of unpredictability. They are like invincible enemies that can wreak havoc with a force too powerful for humans to control. Throughout the world, nature unleashes its wrath in many forms, claiming not only properties but even human lives. Earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, hurricanes, flash floods, landslides, mudflows, volcanic eruptions, wildland fires, extreme heat, winter storms - all these among others are nature's way of reminding man of his frailty and total helplessness. Weather scientist explain that this phenomenon is the recurring appearance of warm surface water in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean, disrupting global weather patterns. It brings about torrential rains and flooding to some parts of the world and extreme drought to other areas. Yet above all these, let us always have complete trust and confidence in the Almighty God whose mighty hand designed the universe and whose eternal power is inexorably greater than any force that man may consider as powerful. Thus,, in times of calamities and natural disasters, people of God resolutely hold on with trust that the Lord God is our ultimate refuge. The power of God is infinite. His strength surpasses every calamity, far stronger than any danger that can threaten man. It is He who has the power to save us from dangers and afflictions.

Okey, honestly I think this is really annoying ! Everyone are talking about it and it kind of inflicts your mind it gets in your head ! In school,outdoors,friends discussions ... EVERYWHERE ! I don't think we should be worried about it ! It's some crazy scientist idea.Firstly as few of you know the end of the world was going to end in 2001 ! Why didn't it end ? Hmm ask yourself that simple question ! Then it was 2004 ahh not again ! And now 2012 ooo 3th time ! Nostradamus lived long time ago I don't know how exactly but half of the people don't know what they ate 2-4 days ago how a single person can predict such a think maybe some aliens helped him with the prediction !? Okey the fun thing is 40 % of the planet population believe the prediction and they are really worried ! I can't say they are wrong !!! Everyone is right for himself , RIGHT ?
