just got back from watching this in the cinema,,, real nice..and fun/exciting movie..
the 3D too is good.. very digital look to it..and the special effects is smooth..
People who enjoyed the original version back in 1985 will love this modern take on Fright Night too.. both are exciting ..the storyline is maintain around the character..but new more current situation added in for 2011 feel to it..
really fun movie..Vampire neighbours at its best..Colin Played "Jerry Dandridge pretty well and looks so cool.. and theres Peter Vincent too.. i give this movie 8/10
only set back is if u never seen the original 1985 version.. the intro is skipped,and right into the story.so im not sure if people who hadnt seen the previous version would be like"what is this all about?" ..thats the only reason i dindt give this a 9*
anyway..i still recommend this movie.. its scary but not scary..its funny but not a comedy..just one of those unique movie..Fright Night 1985 will remained a favorite..and an 80s classic.. But this 2011 is fun to tickle ur 80s memory bone deep inside...; )(although nothing 80s about this movie,especially if u havent seen the original)

I have not seen this yet! Neither the original movie. But from your review, I think I watch the original movie first before watching the new one. 
I have seen the movie poster of this in a movie theater but I wasn't interested because I thought it was just some ordinary slash, blood and gore movie. I give the poster 5 for that because it wasn't an interesting poster. 
Anyway, thanks for your review! That made me curious.

yeha..poster..(for people who havent heard of Fright night 1985) does look cheap and uninteresting..
but ur rite..go and see the old version first..to get ur funny bone ready..for thrill and excitement.. thats whay fright night is all about..less horror..more of a carnival thrill ride..go hurry watch the original..then rush to cinemas to see Colin Farrell as the cool vampire...

yeah..he is the vampire there..taking the role as Jerry Dandridge...the vampire neighbor..from Fright NIght 1985,,
he's cool acting as a vampire.. i love the scene where the main character is confronting colin..while asking his mom and gf to run away first.. Colin..just say to them in friendly manner.."alrite ..catch ya later"(like see you later..bye)

Hi there. I've read online that this movie is good. It's also showing here in our locality and I'm thinking of going to the cinema to watch it. But I have to wait for my girlfriend first. I guess it won't be that exiting if I watch it alone. There's nobody to scare if I'm alone. Hehe. I just hope it will still be showed next week.

So it's not that scary huh. Is it another vampire action movie? Hehe. Is it worth the money? Well if that's the case then I'll think twice now. Next week is still far and that means more time for me to think about going to the cinema or not. Hahaha. Thanks for the notice.

hahahaha.. huys..u two.. i already informed u people in the discussion above.. if u never seen the original version of 1985..you will really confused..
This movie is like exciting..and fun..and little scary.. ITS NOT a full on HORROR movie.. just kinda ADVENTURE sorta..
SHADOW.if u looking for extremely scary movie..than this is not for u..but im sure ur gf will like this..fun and exciting..theres a bit of suspense in there..probbaly she will like..bring her to see it..

I watched Fright Night in DVD but felt quiet bored from watching it, I forwarded most part of the film, I wasn't impressed from this vampire film ...

because u havent seen the origimal 1985 version..plus like always..u dont get all the all american jokes.. which everybody else got.!
