Do you believe this myth? All we really have is right now. At any time we can be harmed or even killed, lose our homes. our job or all our family. What do you do to prepare for this? Most of us just bury our heads in the sand and keep on living. But the wise ones amoung us, prepare. They put together what they can to
keep themselves safe in times of danger, but they also keep a mind set that as long as they can survive in good health all other happenings can be lived with. It is never good to become attached to things that in an instant of fire, storm, earthquake or other natural desaster can vanish. Save your attachment for loved ones and place them first in your priority lists. Blessings

true! family and loved ones comes first before any earthly things. it is ok for earthly things to vanish because as long as we are living we can regain them but if family or our loved ones would be gone it would really be hard to get them back and the feeling of grieving and loneliness is felt as long as we live.

Family & other relations should always be a priority, as whenever we are faced with any unforeseen happenings, we can lose all our wealth but the only thing that stands side by side with us is out family & friends. Having some one who loves you is truly a blessing. Value your relations & retain them.

Hi savypat, I live my life one day at a time and try not to worry about what could happen. This is the only time that I have so I want to enjoy it with my loved ones.I understand quite well that there is no security and anything can happen at any time, but worrying won't prevent it, in fact it will only take away today's peace. Blessings.

I think that we all take for granted at some time or another the things we are lucky enough to have in our lives. I think it's great advice to put priorities first...real priorities. I do have insurance policies out the ying yang in case something ever happens to me...my children were very young when I took them out. I kept wondering what would become of them..I haven't had family. I also have a 401k plan for my retirement but to be honest..I'm not putting in enough. I also try to keep my debt very low. I live with the basics that way if something were to happen to my job..everything isn't taken away.

Material posesions can be lost in a second. You are right that love is what you should be attached to. It gives meaning to life and nothing can take it from you. Security sound like living inside a safe

That's correct. We should always prioritize the safety of people rather than the material things.
People's lives cannot be relived once it's lost, but those material things could be acquired or bought anew. You just have to strive hard in order to earn money to replace them all.

There are myths everywhere you look. But as per security:
I do not think there is anything as being secured anywhere in the world. People and nature are often unpredictable that anything can happen anywhere. The best one can do is to show prudence and be aware of surroundings.

There is no security on this earth or in material things. One's only security is in God, who will never change. Any of us or our loved ones can die in a instant -- be it a natural disaster, an accident, or an act of terrorism or war. As a plaque on my mom's wall says, "When He is all you have, you will find He is all you need." We all hope we won't have to learn how true this is.
