In our school the students have their uniforms. Each grade has a different uniform. It is good for the students to wear school uniforms. This way they don't have to spend time thinking of getting new styles of clothes on campus. They can concentrate more in their study. When weekends and holidays come, they can still wear their own clothes they like for a change.

Only private schools require uniforms here and very few public. The public school here that has them is for what you said as the kids don't have much money at one school so they opted for uniforms. One would think the opposite however that school is known for the student body to beat up anyone that has something they don't or is not Hispanic.I know many that live in that section of town who opt to have their children go elsewhere due to such behavior problems. It's really sad as we have a pretty good community here.

I think enforcing school uniform is fine for student if complying with the dress code is not going to cost the parent moon and star or a month pay check. On the other hand, if there is no funky and extreme dressers among the students population, then having a standard uniform is not necessary for the student, if they know how to dress properly for the classroom.

As a student, I experienced doing both. I used to wear uniforms during my years before college and now I wear casual clothes. I agree that both have pros and cons. But I think I prefer having uniforms since it gets hard to pick out clothes. It's easier now in college, but maybe if this were the case in elementary and high school, it would spark a problem with bullying to people who can't afford clothes. It would also encourage kids to have excessive lifestyles which would be hard for the parents. I believe that uniforms are a sign of equality.

well i would say that the schools should have unifroms the reason is that it seems equality aming them .. meanwhile , if the chidren are allowed to wear anything in the class then each and everyone will have different fressing and the kids will think that they are poor/supperior based on their dressing .. whereas, our givernment provides free uniform to the students which is very good

i dont believe in the idea of uniforms. i dont think that wearing uniforms would stop bullying or help kids fit in in any way. when i was in school our school tried it... after making us pay for the uniforms things didnt change at all, the "popular" kids all "customized" their uniforms and the other kids still got insulted and "bullyed" it only took the school about a week to decide to get rid of the uniforms
