hey friends some of my friends drink raw eggs in order to enhance their muscles. they say it gives pure protein to your body and increases muscle value of the body. though i feel it is a stupid thing to drink raw eggs, besides they taste real bad when taken in that form. also there are many cases associated when some people build skin problems with that.
well i fell the same way it is a food should be eaten in cooked form......

When i was younger, our mother used to drink rootbeer with a raw egg poured and mixed with it. I tasted it and it tastes good. Yes, it's said to be more nutritious that way.
But as i grow older, i realized too, that eating raw eggs might lead to diarrhea if ever there is a salmonella or a bacteria that is in it.Because of that thought, i make it a point that all that i eat are cooked, though with vegetables it should be half cooked.

Actually it has been proven that raw eggs are NOT dangerous. The risk of salmonella infection is usually only present in the traditionally raised commercial hens (battery hens). If you eggs from healthy chickens, the risk of infection is dramatically reduced as only sick chickens lay salmonella-contaminated eggs. If you buy high quality, cage-free, organically fed, chicken eggs, the risks are dramatically reduced. In the UK all chickens are tested and eggs are marked with a Lion safety mark, these tell consumers that they are safe. The symptoms of salmonella food poisoning can strike anyone and is not usually dangerous, but they're more likely to hit the elderly; children; and people with HIV, cancer, or other diseases which impair the immune system.

when I was younger I tried to drink raw egg out of pure curiosity :) My dad told me that it's rich in protein so I tried it and It's OK. But as I get older I've read all about salmonella and stop doing it :)

I know some people who take raw eggs and I really can't understand why they believe raw eggs are more nutritious than cooked eggs. Well if that will really enhance muscles then good for them. But as for me I will always cook the egg and saver its tasty flavor rather than taking it raw and throw it up later.

You know, this is one thing that I would not do, even if someone was to offer me a million dollars to do it. The reason for this is because of the fact that raw eggs and raw chicken can be a contributing factor in salmonella. In addition to that, I also think that things that are protein like that really need to be cooked before you eat them because there is no effective way to wash all of the potential bacteria off of it.

When I was a kid my parents used to let us drink raw eggs when we got sick of measles because according to them eggs will make the skin rashes come out so you will recover from the illness fast. We didn't think it was stupid then, but I like dipping bread on half-cooked eggs.

Always dangerous to eat raw animal foods. You are more likely to contract disesases this way. Please boil or cook your eggs.

I know, most muscle builders include raw eggs in their shake. Maybe that will be much better in taste than just sipping it without any combinations. It can be true that raw eggs can cause diarrhea due to live bacteria and salmonella. As for pregnant women just like me, doctors really discourage to eat raw foods and that includes egg.
You can have other sources of protein in your diet and there are a lot of alternative ways to eat foods which are also rich in protein. It is up to you if you will skip on raw eggs and just opt for meat which are also rich in protein.

I have tried that before for several times. You have to swallow it immediately so that you won't taste it long. Well, they said it's healthy and I found no harm in doing it. But I've never done that again in many years.

Many body builders have benefited from eating raw eggs for body building, because they help to give more muscle, and gain the right amount of calories, without gaining fat. They are usually combined with their daily protein shake (pre or post workout), or mixed with a tall glass of milk, this way the taste is fine. Remember raw eggs are in egg nog and mayonnaise without having a bad taste!! Raw eggs have nutrients that are extremely essential for the body. These help with the healthy and enhanced functioning of the brain, hormones, glands, and nervous system.

eating raw eggs can be a good source of protein, but it can also be a source of huge amount of fats. too much of eggs eaten in a raw form can also give health problems. I also dont like the taste of it. it is truly a nasty tasting food when eaten in raw form. :)
