A Match made in heaven

Cinderella's slipper - The slipper that never fits.

But is it? For some lucky ones, yes, but for most of us, no. You meet, you fall in love, and then what? All your horses were cream, and that carriage, what a scream, I’ll admit you put on quite a show. And I thought it was nice when they turned into mice, But where did the magic all go? Yes, your wand’s lost its shine, and there’s no better sign That it’s time to call the thing quits. ‘Cause you can’t fly a mile on the strength of a smile When the slipper won’t fit. When you can’t stay in key, then it’s time to cut free, The music is no longer fun, When the lights have gone out, and there’s no-one about, When the dancing is done. Ah well, the dancing is done for me, what about you? Lash

Cooking breakfast - oh, no, sorry, feeding the chooks - my breakfast will have to wait lol. Even the dogs before me. Definitely no worries, I just decided I might use bits of my songs to get discussions going with, but at this point (2 responses in 12 hours) it may be no better than anything else. Lash

That reminds me of something my grandfather told me when I was little about long marriages and how to understand. He and my grandmother were married for most of their lives. He said that the secret was that you really had to like the person you were with...not love...like. He said that when the passion has resided and the excitement was pretty much gone that it all boiled down to two people that liked each other and was working for a common goal. They had to always be on each others side...even when the other was wrong..oh...and never mention that the other was wrong in front of anyone else. As far as the dancing...well...I am still dancing a bit on and off..lol.

Even that friendship thing is not always the answer, especially if one of the partners is a flutterby. Lash

There are different kinds of dancing. We just have to work out a new key maybe. I try not to think about it much because the idea of a future getting older and sicker just scares me a little. So for now I still dance in my head and pretend that tomorrow will never come. I distinctly remember the last time I danced. It was at my nephews wedding about 5 years ago. I do wonder where all that energy went.

It's a verse from one of my songs - I used to be a musician. Lash
