Champions League T20 cricket tournament kicks off at Chinnaswami stadium tomorrow with inaugural match between Royal Challengers Bangalore VS Warriors of South Africa. With heart breaking English series of Indian team, there is likely to be lukewarm response from the spectators for the tournament but the official broadcasters ESPN STARCRICKET has left no stone unturned to make the tournament a great success with typical modern day advertising campaign. The popularity is likely to increase as the tournament progresses. There are ten teams in the fray with 2 each from Australia and South Africa, one each from England and West Indies and four from India divided into 2 groups played on round robin basis with 2 teams from each group qualifying for the semifinal which will be played on knock out basis. Final will be played on 9th October on Chepauk, Chennai. With English debacle fresh in the minds of the people do you think CLT20 will arouse Indian people's interest?

Hi best,
Everybody is looking forward to Australian test series to redeem some pride after that devastating series in England but that will be too far. We have to face England in one day series after the conclusion of C.L.. Series against England will definitely arose the interest to see how India copes up with England at home. If there had been a test series it would have been better. That would have shown how strong this English side actually is. Let us for the moment concentrate on Champions League.

I think CLT20 will around interest in the Indian crowds. Of course there has been an overdose of cricket and there is a general waning of interest. But still people will follow their respective clubs especially in Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkotta and Mumbai which are all represented in this CL T20.
Chennai Super Kings ku periya whistle podu.
Cheers!
Ram

Hi ram,
Nice to be meeting again after long time. As i have pointed out earlier, C.L. will get luke warm response from the customers in the initial stages but it will gather steam as the tournament progresses and the interest grows up. CSK has to be strong favorite along with R.C.B. among Indian teams. M.I. will be weakened with the absence of sachin. Australian teams as always will remain strong favorites to win the tournament.

I cannot wait, T20 is my favourite form of cricket as it so most exciting and thrilling. Especially due to the fact that the batters and more risky, playing shots to get boundaries. I love it when the crowd goes wild when someone hits a six.
