I am a cat lover. I have a new cat in the house and I am fond of it. I get even so cautious not to let my cat go outside. I even let my cat sleep with me on the bed. I really love my cat. But one thing I am curious about is how do I know if my cat is hungry or thirsty by looking in its gesture or by listening to it's voice? Can someone help me?

not really... Keep fresh water down all the time for the cat, and feed her regularly, if she's grown, twice a day, if she's still a kitten, then 4 or more times, or leave food down for her - that's called "free feeding" so she can eat when she wants to - works best with dry food.

Yeah I have an article about cat eating development. It's the kittens who does have much the food intake. So cats pick dry food when they have enough fresh water around. Thanks!

most cats will pick wet food if you offer it, but fresh water is something that all animals need, I feed dry because I have so many and it would be hard to make sure that the feral cats ate if I tried to only feed wet (like I could afford that!)

As every one agrees a bowl of fresh water should always be available. I have two cats who mostly live outdoors. I have a bowl of water and dry food on my enclosed porch which I fill about the same time every morning. They have enough to last all day. I never leave any food out at night for them as I don't want it to attract wild animals like skunks. My cats like some cat foods better than others so I tend to make sure they have their favorite. As many cats are fussy eaters they will not eat much of what they don't like and will lose weight.

Cats do eat skunks? Well I lived in the Asian country and we don't have skunks here. I am wondering if really cats can eat skunks larger than them? By the way, thanks for the thought.

Hi I'm afraid I can't add any more to the previous respondent and repeat very strongly that fresh water should always be available. You might find however that cats will prefer to take dirty water from elsewhere but that should not stop you from providing fresh.

Yes absolutely! Fresh water is best than any water around the house. POTABLE WATER!!!
