Nothing beats a creamy bite of mac 'n' cheese, especially when you're in the mood for something warm and comforting. I was in the mood for cooking and I was tried to cook the mac n' cheese but unfortunately it did not taste very well, though its not bad at all, i was follow the instruction that i get in the net but still i don't know why i did not get the right taste that i want. my brother told me by looking at the recipe, it was an easy recipe but why did i not get the right taste. But ofcourse they still eat what i cook for them or they just dont have a choice because they don't have a dinner to eat..

Macaroni and Cheese is surely one of the best comfort foods, along with meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and spaghetti and meatballs. And there are others, too, of course.
The variations in recipes for macaroni and cheese also suit different tastes.
My mother made an excellent variation, baked, and layered with milk and cheese which I have not been able to duplicate, though it was effortless for her.
I am not always pleased with my own presentations.
I try different cheeses and use more than one in each recipe. I've used as many as five varieties of cheese.
What works best for me, it seems, is to use a bit of chicken base broth in addition to the milk or cream in the bechamel sauce.
I add a pinch of nutmeg to the bechamel.
I do not like the addition of mustard that many use.
Variations can also include adding lobster, mushrooms, bacon, or other ingredients.
I've not tried that yet. You could also add veggies or tomatoes.
You can make a quick mac and cheese stovetop or bake it in the oven, usually topped with breadcrumbs and butter.

Hi epicure, thanks for the info and sharing your recipe with me, its a big help for me, to know what i want to be my mac n' cheese to be taste.
I put meatloaf and mushroom in my mac n' cheese with a lots of milk, heavy cream and cheese, maybe that is why its too saucy yet lack of saltiness on it. Even the part of crunchiest on the top, i did not also get it right.
But because you shared a lot of recipe about mac n' cheese, i would like to try that.. Thanks again.

Thanks for your yummy discussion. Meatloaf and mushroom mac and cheese sounds great. It would tighten with a roux to make a bechamel which is less runny and when cheese is added it would tighten more. Taste for seasoning re salt and pepper. I add a pinch of nutmeg for some balance.

I'm a big fan of mac and cheese. But my mom don't cook it. I just buy it in fast food or the instant one where you just need to cook the noodles. Although it is just a plain and simple recipe, I'm really into it.

Here where I live, we rarely eat mac and cheese, actually I never saw this meal be served in any restaurants. But, I was very curious and a few years ago I searched for the recipe on the internet. It took me 2-3 times until I get a good recipe and now when I want some confort food, I do mac and cheese. I already done this meal to my friends and they really liked too and it was something that they never tasted before.

So i'll be thankful that some of resto and fastfood here may serve some.
Maybe if i could try again and again and look some recipe and how to cook the mac n' cheese properly and correctly i will definitely get the taste that i want or better than i read in the net, i wanted also to serve this and give as a gift also to my godson in his 1st birthday, i hope when that time comes it surely delicious as never tasted before also and they request it again to me.. lol..

I absolutely agree! I dont need nothing complicated, I am happy with mac n' cheese! Specially the one that my boyfriend makes!! He puts some tomato puree on it after cooked and strained, and then adds the cheese (Red Leicester cheese) and stirs a bit more on the fire until the cheese melts, and then once in the plate adds even more cheese! I am a cheese fan and it's absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I call it sexy pasta. :P

yes, i dont like either a complicated recipe for me to cook my mac n' cheese, but maybe that is why i did not get the correct taste that it possibly taste, because i just get the easiest recipe, but after reading all those kind of recipe in the net about mac n' cheese, i know now what is wrong and what i need to add in my recipe.
Putting tomato puree in mac n' cheese is something that i dont know, but i guess i will try your sexy pasta..

Haha, yea, there is no rules about mac n' cheese, as I am sure there are as many recipes as people in the world. Some people even add onion, I don't like onion at all so if someone gives me pasta with a bolognese sauce that contains onion, I'll most prolly spend the next 15 minutes targeting and removing all the onion bits. I don't wanna be unpolite and I know it looks weird, but onion produces me a trow up sensation.

Yum. Mac n Cheese is definitely one of my comfort foods too. I have not been able to perfect my own version of it so I enjoy it at restaurants and friends houses. Sometimes mine is too cheesy or too soft or too runny - lol

I really love pasta, and this is my comfort foods too.
Why the restaurants has a better taste than my own version? haha.. maybe i did some mistake in the ingredients.. Actually my boss bought it for us for a snack in the office the other day, that's i was tried to cook it in our home. But my version was too saucy. But i will definitely try another one..

Mac and Cheese is one of the best comfort foods there is in my opinion. The best way to make mac and cheese ofcourse is the homemade way like a casserole with a super cheesey white sauce. then sprinkle cheese on top with crushed Ritz Crakers and bake until the top is crusty golden brown. I think the white sauce is the hardest part of making a good mac & cheese and it can be a bit tricky if you've never made one before.
Luckily my two boys also love Kraft Macaroni and Cheese which is super easy to make and what I do on weeknights most of the time.
Good luck with your next Mac & Cheese, it gets easier the more you do it!

Actually all the pasta dishes are my comfort foods.
Yeah, this is my first time and i think its the sauce that is why i did not get the correct taste of my mac n; cheese, but i done before the carbonara and it taste it well, so i thought the way i cook my carbonara is the same way of how to cook the mac n'cheese, but it turns out not.. I guess i need to watch another video and look another recipe in the net so i can make it right and delicious. Thanks, i will do it next time with flying colors. lol..
