Tough studies in masters

September 23, 2011 10:19am CST
I think the masters levels means the specialization in the subject and the graduation refers to the main basics and alot others that related to the field but in masters one have to concentrate on one subject in which he or she want to be specialized but nowadays the graduation level is just getting lose its value . i mean that we have not seeked anything in the graduation because of the system and teachers and now as i am in the best university doing my masters i have recognised that one should have to study in graduation because masters is completely linked with that .

Dear Hamzas! First of all Welcome to one of the most popular social site Mylot! I think one should always realise as a student that every thing taught in schools and colleges are very important and nothing can be taken easily! It would be a wrong thing to blame the system , teachers or some else for not studying properly at graduation level!!!! It is the responsibility of a student to understand the subject thoroughly in the class and he should be in a position to apply the knowledge in day to life if needed! Just studying for the sake of passing the examination won't serve the purpose! So to have a solid foundation, the subjects taught at the school level and college level are very important!!!! I did my masters some 25 years back and I know how difficult is it to pass the masters without having the basics or proper foundation! Masters as the word indicates requires a lot of efforts and determination to acquire expertise in the field of the specialisation! So at this juncture instead of cribbing about the past and others , it would be better to clear your doubts if you have any pertaining to your graduation time to have a solid foundation so that you can build a better Masters degree on that! Thanks for the discussion and I liked participating in it!All the best!!!!

thnx for welcoming me . the point which i want to clarify is that the system has got a trend in the way that everyone want to have comfort . same is the case with the students . its a teen aged life and no one want to take tension . i want to say that the system has given us such a relaxation that we just want to pass the exams and nothing have to do with others .

Dear Hamzas! Thus is nothing new you are talking about! This thing has been there in the past too! There used to be two distinct group of students then and I think even today also! One group which is carefree and not interested in actual studies and attend the college just to have fun! for them studies are secondary thing and having the fun is the primary one! In the second group there are students who are really interested in their studies and other things are secondary to them! Don't take this second group lightly and label them boring and studious types! this group may include the student who may not be dull and boring but these students can be very active in extra curricular activities and when it comes to the examinations they excel in the class! I was one of those students! I never depended upon the system, staff and the teaching ways! What all I wanted was to have the knowledge about the subjects thoroughly what was given in the syllabus! Thus I used to always be prepared with the subject by spending many hours in the library and working hard through out the nights! Thus in my opinion it is the attitude ofthe student that makes all the difference! Even today also we have merit students ! Why they are not affected by other factors like you? In conclusion I would say that it is the individual who is responsible making his own life by using all available means in a possible best way! Thanks !

I have started this discussion because i was also from the secong group and topped the class and even the school also but then in University life i have met to those which you can say was from the 1st group and you know company matters lot and now the fun and enjoyment which i have in graduation is creating problems for me in my masters and i am really confused that what i have to do . i need to study alot and more alot but i have lost my study stamina . Much much tensed now i realized that why i prefer the enjoyment on studies.

Hello my dear friend studies are not for taking any tension usually students want to get over studies easily as who would not like the thing being simple and easy. It is up to us how we take studies as because if we did regularly studies than it is not at all hard and if we let it be like this only then it is very much hard to mug up at the end. and i thing master is for just name sick because now there are so many master in the field who are jobless to get anything in this world we have to struggle, we have to understand and need communication skill then nothing is impossible to us!!!

Yeah you are right that its up to us how we take our studies but the sysytem has given us so many restrictions and like warnings that one have to take tension . the job, struggle, communication skills all these comes after completing studies and during studies one have to pass with tensions.

Masters is designed to tough since it involves, as you said, specialization in a particualr field of study. As a result, the topic and studies are more in-depth, more critical and requires more devotion comapred to your college coursework. Not everybody is a Master's degree material. You really have to be devoted to your studies ( it is the reason why schools need a recommendation letter for anyone applying for a master's degree). Even entering graduate school not everybody is the same - they can also fail or succeed in their studies (depending on the circumstances). It's not obligatory but it offers a a new degree of studying and knowledge about an industry or discipline. In some ways, graduate school can be described as an educational boot camp. I quite agree that earning a bachelor's degree is just becoming a formality nowadays - a fancy requirement for people just to have a job or start a career. However, in otehr fields, having a bachelor's degree is crucial since an industry has its own environemnt, system and its own world that is distinctly different form other industries. Besides, having a bachelor's degree is laying out the foundations for future Master's degree. One can see the potential in bachelor that can evolved into getting a higher degree (just like the Master's is a stepping stone for a Doctorate).

Hello hamzas In every masters degree, you need to specialize in one subject, that always need the basics that you have already got in you graduation. You can't skip your graduation to do masters.Whether the graduation has a lot of subjects but all give us some knowledge and that we are going to opt in masters is very necessary to read with a lot of sincerity in graduation. So just study better in all the levels that can give you more better life and knowledge both.

yes definately the information which you gained through the bachelors degree is very helpful for your masters level .. on the other hand ,, the postgraduate studies involve a very detailed information about everything .. both the degree holder as well as the post graduate qualification holder can work .. the practical experience is also important .. its better you go in masters with some practical experience ,, so then it will be plus point for you
