I'm just curious, if there are any Trekkies here on MyLot. I consider myself one. If you are a Star Trek fan, which one was your favorite show? Any favorite episodes? Who's your favorite character? What movies did you like? Do you think Trek is more interesting and intelligent than Star Wars? How did you like the recent Star Trek reboot? And are you eagerly waiting for the sequel?:)

You only saw the first one?? Wow, that is some accomplishment:) I thought everybody saw at least the second one too. It is a good movie, you should watch it. It is of course not as good as the first film, but still enjoyable. I ust re-watched 5-6 months ago after like years and it still holds up good. It's better to look at the second part as a simple action flick. The third one though, avoid that like tha plague.
Anyways, this discussion is about Star Trek so:) we should just stop now with responses about other movies:)

Not sure if I would go so far to call myself a Trekkie but I am definitely a fan. My favorite television episode was when the Capt (he had a bald head - has it been to long?) got stunned on board his ship by an alien probe with a beam and then traveled to a strange planet to live the rest of his life with friendly people. It all happened in his mind but he learned about the culture and was given a flute which he kept throughout the series as a memory of the event, cute.
The last movie release, I enjoyed when the elderly Spock said something in the movie about a time warp. I think it applied well also to a specific generation? The star trek audience generation perhaps?

I really like the thought they put into some of those scripts. It was not just about shoot and high tech stuff although some were. What the writer did I think was really something they must of loved to do. Even though it was fiction, I almost could feel for those people on that dying planet, you know somewhere, sometime it did actually happen. Well could have I suppose.

Not a huge Sci Fi fan but I am a big Star Trek fan, my Mam loved it and got me hooked on the re runs of the original series but I have to say it was The Next Generation that really did it for me. Never cared much for the other series but Voyager had its moments. I have all the movies on DVD and all the next gen series. I liked any episodes with the Borg, or Data related and anything where they time travelled.
I loved the new Star Trek reboot, much better than what I expected it to be. Looking forward to the sequel a lot. Star Trek is more involved than Star Wars, but don't get be wrong I love my Star Wars too.
I am more of a horror fan but do like good Sci Fi

Yeah, I think some of the best TNG episodes were pretty much anything that included the Borg, or time travel, or the holodeck. And the two-parters were always good. For me, the original series will alywas be the best. I just love it. I started watching Trek from there and went chronologically, through the animated series, all the movies and other series.

That's too bad :) I'd say Star Wars is aimed mainly at children, while Star Trek is for adult audiences. There's nothing wrong with Star Wars (at least the original trilogy), but Star Trek is such a complex, interesting and intelligent piece of work. The Trek mythology is at least ten times bigger than the Star Wars one, it has a lot more real technology (or at least stuff that is based on real sciense) and a lot more meaning to it. Star Wars is fun, but it's just fantasy, fused with a couple of sci-fi elements.

I liked all the trek TV series and most of the movies ..... Spock is still the top notch character of all of them.

love star trek and all the different series.found it a shame that enterprise only lasted for 4 seasons.love the next gen and the way they build the stories of the borg up right from season 1 to when they appeared at the end of season 3
