When I was younger I had a mixed breed dog named Pugzy. He was awesome and I miss him. He didn't do anything heroic, he was just a really awesome pet. Everyday I would come home from elementary school and I would throw my book bag in the driveway and run to him. He would jump up on me and knock me down and we would just play and roll in the dirt together. I wish I still had him but we had to move when I was younger and wasn't allowed to have pets where we were moving to so I left him with someone I knew. I went back to see him a few days later and he was gone. They said someone let him out and he didn't come back. I still think they let him out.

We have 6 horses, 3 dogs, and a parrot. Not sure where to begin here. I break and train horses as well as ride in the rodeos, our dog rode on the truck with us (one of them) while my husband and I team drove and was a lot of company. Actually we even carried the parrot on the truck for a while. He is a real trip...you never know what he is going to say. He actually talks and definitely has a mind of his own. The other two dogs we have only had since i came off of the truck.

Horses are great. I have never owned any but I have rode them and I love it. I hope I get to ride a horse again someday. I haven't rode since I was young. As for the parrot, I love them. I think it's amazing that they can talk and understand us. I would love to own a parrot. I have owned a few dogs but never my favorite breed. I want to get a English Bulldog someday.

The bull dogs are beautiful animals. Ours are blue heeler/australian shepherd and then we have one mini weenie dog. As far as the horses, I don't know what I would do without them. I ride basically every day as I compete at our local rodeo on the weekends, and especially lately as I have a new one that I am training on barrels. I have had her for about a week and a half and have been hauling her to the rodeo and doing exhibition runs until she is ready to compete to get her used to the environment.
As far as the parrot goes, he definitely has a mind of his own. He also is a better weather forecaster than most weathermen I have seen. If we have a front coming in or the weather is going to change, he gets VERY loud, outspoken, and downright cranky, LOL. Who needs the weather channel, I have my parrot.
Hope you are able to get a riding horse and get back into the riding. It is a wonderful experience. I don't know where you are in the US, but we have a couple that are for sale that are broke and also a yearling filly. I sent a friend request, you can PM if you might be interested.

I would love to get into riding but it's just expensive plus seeing how my fiancee and myself don't own our home, it would be impossible. I would love to ride again and just enjoy it but I doubt it will happen. I'm just going to hope I get to ride again some day. I've always wanted a solid black stallion with a white streak down his head.

I had a Rottweiler, he is 1 year and a few months old now. My parents have him because I moved out of state. I don't have any heroic stories but I do have some nice stories and memories of him. Everyday I would sit on the reclining chair and he would sit on my lap (he thought he was a lap dog) and we would watch the tv show The Doctors and wait for my mom to come home from work. He also loves to bark at you when he wants attention. :)
