Internet makes us smarter

I believe that the internet is only a tool to make other people smarter. Like all tools it always depends on the user on what his activities are on the net. If a person only uses the internet for games then I don't think it will make them smarter. Although there are numerous information on the internet a lot of those information are wrong.

Indeed that much is for sure. The Internet is really an extremely fascinating place to say the very least. There are just many times where we can go on the Internet and rather learn a lot on the Internet. In fact, there are many cases where it does seem like we can have a bit too much knowledge. Including going into pathways of things that we were never meant to know. Still the Internet can be an insane treasure of knowledge. It is just so many directions, that no one would be able to uncover every single little thing on the Internet. Not that we do not in fact try. However there are a lot of people who are sharing the knowledge. Of course, some of it might not be completely be all that true but there is still a lot of valuable and true information.

That all depends on the material being used and the websites being used. There are some websites out there, and I will not name names for fear of retaliation, but they don't necessarily make people smarter, they make them less intelligent and more prone to developing a hive mind, and if you know the name of this site, please don't speak it's name. It's great for people who are shy and who don't like to talk. The internet was how I got my boyfriend to come out of his shell, but for some people, it makes them more prone to doing stupid things that they probably wouldn't do.

This is really and exciting way to learn. I have used the message board many times to learn new and interesting things. The internet is such that a person can chose a topic and learn as much as they please on the subject. I love it! I am so curious and the opportunities are endless.

It makes us lazy also in other ways.

Yes i agree with you, Internet i the one most thing can people help to explore there self in a things or idea that they never see or know before. thru this internet we communicating someone with a billion miles from us , you will know what the news in other country and even an old topic or history that you want to know. the great things for this is you find a one of the best site that not only you are searching and enjoying using internet but also you shared your idea and thought while you earning like here in Mylot.com..

in some ways, this is true. but it depends on the kind of exposure on the internet. if one immersed him/herself in very informative and instructive materials and websites, then surely those will make that person smarter. but if one immerses him/herself with thrash materials, then those can make him/her duller. internet is a tool,. it depends on how we use it to enhance our skills and knowledge.

I think the Internet is great and there's so much information out there and you can virtually find anything you want these days. Having said that I still love books and I don't like the idea or reading books online as I love to hold them physically in my hands. Certain aspects of knowledge are no longer a secret anymore and anyone can top into the tremendous resources of the world wide web. I'm into computers and I like to keep up with what is going on in the world of technology and the Internet definitely helps me to do that. I have subscribed to technology newsletters and I receive them in my inbox on a regular basis and it's absolutely great. Anyway, let's hope that the Internet remains forever and that some technical glitch doesn't suddenly bring it all to a dramatic end! Andrew

hi, internet is similar to books,the more books we read the more information we got,same to the internet,but the difference is there are more info in the internet rather than in one book.reading make us more smarter even from book or in the internet.

The internet makes us rely on the computer more. Before, I used to search on books but now I just use the computer to search about a topic in the internet. Its more convenient and accessible.
