I want to start my response off by thanking YOU, marguicha. You are truly an inspiration for everyone! The way you have handled this disease is nothing short of amazing. Your positive spirit is something I will never forget and hope that I can have that same spirit, or at least part of it, if I am ever told the news you have been told. Oh, I have no doubt that you've had your weak moments, after all you're only human. But, the face you've put on here in your myLot family is something to be proud of.
I've learned so much from you, especially in the kitchen. I've actually begun cooking more and eating even healthier than I was before I met you because of the delicious meals you post about. (I'm growing eggplants and zucchini because of you. )
No matter what the outcome, you have every right to be proud of yourself because you have proven to be one extremely courageous person.

Dearest friend,
After your answer, I had to go out to my garden to take the first pictures of my zucchini plant to show them to you. Spring is just starting here and I planted two plants (the big ones)in containers and then, later. two seeds in the soil. I thought the others would not come out, so I transplanted the big ones in the hill. Now they have little sisters growing by them. I cannot wait for the zucchinis. The only raw veggies I can eat now are from my garden as I know they don´t have pesticides. A raw zucchini salad is awesome!
As I say: I am a whole person who has an illness called cancer. I am not a cancer. And if this kills me or not is yet to see because we well all die some way or another. So now I´m thinking of how to look better in Spring in spite of being bald (scarves? turbans?) and will try to work harder online so the vacation money I have spent in these things is put back in my piggybank. I bought some nice things online from the American Cancer Society who sells nice things without profit. I will ssee if I can make patterns with what I get and make some myself.
Now for the zucchini picture

I knit, crochet and sew,but now we are begining Spring in my country so I only want patterns from cotton or gauze fabrics. How can I search for them? Patterns+scarf? Pattern+turbans? Could you give me a hint? I´d like to have several. In Summer it´s warm and they have to be washed daily. And I´m full of vanity so I want one plain one for each one of my Summer dresses

Dear friend, you are a person who has touched many hearts, including mine. There are so many nice people here, but you are one of my special friends.
Some years ago, I learned about a man - age 65 that time - who had lymphoma of the worst kind and the doctors could not do anything more for him, so they just sent him home.
Then one woman, who knows a great deal about nutrition, made a program for him. He started taking the nutrition - in his case in form of food supplements - and he got well in about 8-9 months. The nutrition was cold pressed oils and vegetables - probably large amounts.
He was still well six years afterwards, when I met the woman who had helped him.
Now, that you can get the veggies of your own, you will have a chance to eat as much as you can of them, so combined with a positive attitude, I believe you´ve got a good chance to get well.
Wish you a wonderful spring..

Just thought that there are so many fast growing veggies that are available in spring. Here is an article about edible weeds, flowers and blossoms by someone you might know

Dearest buenavida,
I don´t know what will happen in the future but I am moved by what you said. And I never thought that my post would have the responses I have gotten. They have touched me beyond my expectations.
I hope my veggies survive my cares and that I remember to water them then the weather is warmer.

Marguicha,
Many people usually just see Mylot as a place to make and earn money, but many others see it more as a place to socialize and make friends. I'm glad Mylot has been able to help you through tough times, just like it has been able to help many others. I truly hope you're feeling better! Just know that me and everyone else here in Mylot are supportive of you and will help you through every step of this disease.
Happy mylotting!
Annie

Hi oXAquaXo,
Just scroll up and you´ll see how supportive and lovely are my friends. We have talked for months or years about so many things that it seems that the only thing left is to gather at one of our homes and see what´s in the fridge or the pantry. And talk some more!

Dear friend,
I think that there´s one important thing to keep in mind: I am a whole person who has an illness called cancer. I am nota cancer. And if this kills me or not is yet to see because we well all die some way or another. So now I´m thinking of how to look better in Spring in spite of being bald (scarves? turbans?) and will try to work harder online so the vacation money I have spent in these things is put back in my piggybank. As soon as my chemo finishes (there´s a follow up with chemo for years if there are year to follow) anyway, there are periods where you are free, if you want to call it that way. I´ll spend some money I was saving for a far future now and I will have vacations and fun. I´m planting seeds in my garden an I do hope Ill see the fruits. Carpe diem!!!

I have 2 different tomato seedlings up (round and the oval ones), a few zucchini, parsley, chives, leeks, lettuce and a few radishes left.
I planted today some cucumber seeds and want to plant some sweet pepper and arugule.
I have big kale plants and I´ve been eating them all Winter.
Any more ideas? I want to plant about any easy thing.

I understand you because when I had a road accident a pretty bad one I must say I too handled it with a smile on my face and that smile worked miracles.
It is not how much one has but what one makes of what one has is the true way to happiness and you have shown that!
What seeds are you planting?

I was thinking about you the other day and was wondering how you were doing with your treatments.Hope everything is going well.Keep your head up and your heart strong.A lot of people will let a sickness pull them down.If it was my mother, she would. But I wouldn't.Some people are just not as strong as others. And by reading your discussions, you sound like a very strong woman. Please keep us posted on how you are doing,ok. You have lots of mylot hugs from your friends when you need them.Big hug to you.

In about a month, I´ll have another prognosis depending on a second scan and bone marrow test. Up to now, the prognosis is not good. But I´m not discouraged. I´m taking care of daily toils instead of wanting to change the world as I once wanted

Thanks for your words. I had as a husband a wise and generous man who taught me about giving and receiving. It´s all part of the same thing and many times I wish people would understant more that receiving is the other half of a miracle.

I think it is certainly possible to make real friendships online and MyLot is one of the best places. I appreciate what you are going through as not too long ago I watched my mother in law experiencing similar treatment to yours. I will pray for you as I have for her. It is the very least I can do from a distance. Here is to your healing...

Thanks paula. It is a great part of my enjoyment today to be able to write hear and communicate with friends. I don´t go out much except for the hospital (not the most interesting place to go), so it´s a pleasure to join you for a cup of coffee or tea (now without caffeine for me)and be part of life. I´ll write a post about my grand outing last week as soon as I upload some pictures that were taken before I went.
You all have helped me be strong and alive. Thanks.

Dearest,
I know that I have found dear friends here who help me a lot.
I think that there´s one important thing I have to keep in mind: I am a whole person who has an illness called cancer. I am not a cancer. So now I´m thinking of how to look better in Spring in spite of being bald (scarves? turbans?) and will try to work harder online so the vacation money I have spent in these things is put back in my piggybank. Meanwhile, the zuchinni are giving their first leaves and I´ll be able to eat raw zuchinni salad when the time comes as the only raw salad I can eat is from my own garden (no pesticides).

oh you are most welcome my friend, I asked mom to give your name to her church, they pray for you there none stop, they have what they call "prayer warriors" that take turns praying for prayer requests. People there were asking who's Marguicha? Is that a first or a last name? and mom told them you are my internet friend. Keep in mind there is a small church here in Las Pinas , Philippines continuously praying for you and a lot of other people to a kind and merciful God. Take care always.

The only time I haven´t been smiling (and quite depressed in fact) was the day after my last granddaughters 1st birthday. I was invited to a barbecue and decided to forget my diet. I ate every forbidden thing. You don´t want to know how I was that nigh: more inthe bathroom than in bed. I hated myself, my diet, my chemo, everything. I had that stupid mood where you start feeling sorry for yourself and thinking that noone loves you. It´s ok now
And my friends here have helped SO much! If you scroll up and down, you will see that I´m blessed by having discovered this place.

Yeah, Mylot is just like one big, WORLD WIDE community. It's not just people in the U.S. that are looking after you, but people from all over the world. People from China, India, the Phillipines, etc. are all reading your story and hoping that you'll get well. Just know that your international friends are all hoping you get better!

I think that is one of the things that is the best about the community that I've found on mylot. The people that are here are willing to help the other members of the site in a way that those people that we see on a regular basis are not able to do for us.
So, how are you doing these days? I haven't has as much time to spend on here as I had been spending because of other things that have been going on in my life.

I haven´t been much here these last two weeks either. I had a bad intestinal problem two weeks ago, after I decided to eat everything at my youngest granddaughter´s 1st birthday. All than week was terrible. Then this week I felt well but had to go to the hospital 4 days in a row, It´s one day for exam, one for the doctor and two for chemo. Now, fortunatly I´m ok.
I hope all are better at your front

I sure hope your chemo helps. Bless you.
I live in chronic pain. some days are better than others.
BUT I intend to walk until my back completely gives out.
I refuse surgery myself because I have not met one person yet that has said they did back surgery and got ok.
The part that always bothers me is they have to go back for more surgeries.
I figure whatever I have God has a reason that I got it and its up to him now what I do and can't do.
Please feel better!
Everyone here I am sure wishes you good health!

Dear marie,
I had back surgery on 1997. I had haernias in L4 and L5 and sometimes the pain was terrible even with help from special exercises. Once in a while, when I´m very stressed, the pain comes back and I rub the back with ketoprofen or the like, put on a rice warm bottle and go to bed to see a show or movie for the day. That´s about all. I can still half run, in spite of my surgery, my 66 years of age and my cancer now. I´ll post a picture of myself on my last vacations this March. You will see that I don´t look with pain and I´m straight.Everything was there, except that the cancer wasn´t diagnosed yet. Trust a good doctor.
I´m doing my best with my illness. I have to have my home very clean and eat a certain diet; the doctors do the meds and chemo and the rest is left for the unknown. No one will live forever but I do think that we learn from life.
A hug and there goes the picture.

Just don't give up fighting. I know that miracles exist and if you have a strong belief and strong faith you can recover, no matter what the doctors say. I hope you will feel my strongest wishes from far away and you will get more power to fight. I just hope we can still chat here for years, so please get well

Thanks, love. I´m doing my best. I don´t fell ill in fact, just very tired after the chemo. But everyone says that´s how it is because chemo doesn´t differenciate between good and bad cells as long aas they are dividing. That is, they attack dividing cells so my skin (inner and outer) is a mess. But I´m not giving in.
