Anyone here working for WriterBay for $100 a week?

A friend of mine, a writer, recommended WriterBay to me and I really have no idea yet what that site is all about and I am just reading their tutorial at the moment. He said he is earning $100 a week average and could earn more if he finds more time to work there. So, anyone here already have experience with that site?

I couldn't find out much about it. Their requirements make it sound like it's tough to get in... but then I found a forum thread discussing it with this little gem posted: "they give orders, apart from delaying salaries, but they seem to be a credible site,i have been writing for them" Frighteningly bad English for a writer on a "quality" site. Another comment from the thread (before that was posted) is "If you're a writer, it sounds like you'll fit in just fine. If you're a customer, I'd steer clear." Sounds like it's worth a look if you have a Bachelor's degree and can get through their tests (at a guess you can just search online for answers while you're taking them, just like anywhere else). Virtually all the results I turned up online for WriterBay itself were movie reviews. Bizarre.

Just signing up to see what it's like. There are errors in their grammar test...

You don't need to know anything about the styles - there's a link at the top of the test that takes you to Purdue OWL, with complete style guides. You just search through. Easy. I expect they do review work if they're going to pay well, though given the mistakes in their own grammar test, I'm not sure how effective that'll be!

I only took the first part of the test then I stopped because I don't know anything about the next questions regarding the "styles". To your questions, maybe they do review every work because there is a part on their terms that says they deduct a portion of earnings for every mistake the writer commits.

I never heard of it but it does sound interesting. I will take a look at it and see if it is worth it to join or not. !00 a week sounds pretty good to me.

Well, I just looked at the site and bookmarked it. It does seem legit. Although as SpikeTheLobster and changela say, it is not for the amateur. It is or the professional. I will look more into it but I think I will not be able to work for that site I do not have a bachelors degree. So, I am sure they would not want me working for them. But for someone who has a degree and is looking for something that they can do at home, this site would be awesome.

Actually, my sister has been working for this site for months and they always pay. They do not discriminate. English is not our native language yet she still got accepted. In fact, after two months, she already got the PRO status. The reason they declined your application is perhaps not because of your ethnicity but your ability to professionally use English as your second language. Even if someone could write grammatically correct sentences, it doesn't automatically mean they're fit to write professionally. The application process can be a bit tricky. Don't be too judgmental about the sample paper. It's not going to be paid because it's not even hard work. The cases available in the site are far from such creative writing asked of you. The cases are mostly technical and the sample paper serves nothing but to evaluate your English proficiency. As long as you can write well, they will consider you. Even if you do get in, you still have to prove yourself that you can constantly submit quality papers. Each time you finish a case, a client has the option to rate your work. If the ratings always come up as excellent, you will get the cases you applied for more easily and some clients will even request for you. If you're late in submitting your work, expect a call from an international number. If you're always late, your account will be terminated. If you're thinking of applying for this site simply because you like writing about all sorts of things or just very fond of blogging, just don't. As what I've said, the cases are mostly technical and that's also why you can go earning $100 a week if you're not feeling lazy. You cannot possibly finish a case if you don't have any idea what it's all about and that's the purpose of your educational certificate. If you have a degree in a particular field, you will have a higher chance of getting a case in your field. As you finish more and more cases under your field, you will soon find yourself getting every case in that field as well. The reason you don't get to see a lot of information about the site like who runs it and what not is because (this is only my assumption) most of the work you do there can be "unethical". You will often find yourself doing lab reports, thesis and other academic writing that only the rich and lazy can afford. That's also why they're very particular with time because those people have to meet deadlines of sorts for those papers. Those are not the only ones though. Some cases are also "ethical" if you may call it. I hope I've answered most of what's been bothering you about this site. If you believe college has taken the best of you, then by all means try it out. When you do get accepted, you'l soon realize that education is indeed priceless. Have a nice day.

Writerbay is scam, they will ask you for your personal data such as educational certificate and later on ID for reasons that are doubtful. They are racists from Ukraine who pretend they are Americans. If you are from Africa they will decline your application and make false claims that the sample you submitted contains confusing words. I honestly respected Writerbay but when I discovered that they are discriminating against African, I no longer respect them. I do recognize that we in Africa English is not our first language but don't waste our time making predetermined applications. I am still waiting for them to specify where the confusing words are in my sample paper.

Hi, this is a SCAM site, would you believe me if I ask you to write something for $100 a week, without excessive qualification process made .
26 Sep 11
Did you look at their qualification process? 3-4 separate tests, a bachelor's degree, a sample article... this ain't Triond.

No, I have never heard of it. However, I am very interested. Hopefully, your friend is a very trustworthy person, and the site is legitimate. I will keep my eye on this discussion in case someone can provide more information on WriterBay. I would love to make $100+ a week, if I could find a legitimate website to earn from.

I still haven't read everything from their website right now because I am busy at the moment. But the sites seems to be very legit. The jobs seems very hard!

i signed up from a job opportunity posting in linkedin group. i took the writing test and passed after less than two weeks waiting. i took on my first writing project and am on my fifth since maybe first week of february this year and i stand to earn about $80. i wont get paid actually until i earn $100 from client payments. i am picky and go slow but sure because i want my rating up and i have a full-time job and i don't want to get dragged down by heavy topics. i have an existing payoneer account and i opted the bank transfer mode direct from writerbay to my bank account via payoneer. when i earn $100, i should have money in the bank.

I haven't tried it and actually I just heard it from you. But by seeing this website's requirement and seeing the website's reviews around, I think that amount of money is reasonable and this site is really genuine. And I believe, in order to reach that much - 100$ - you need to fulfill all of their requirements, including "At least Bachelor's degree in any subject-field". I think non Bachelor's degree can also write there but they will get less earning. Anyway, thank you for informing us about this site. I am gonna bookmark it.

We can just say we have a bachelor's degree! But I didn't, because I don't have one. But I still get to sign up, I just don't have the time for the test yet.

Haha, maybe you are right. I can't think of ways they verify our level of education. Maybe scan the certificate? But it is really too much I haven't signed up there yet, I am still have no time to be active there. I am waiting for your great news with that site!
27 Sep 11
They ask for proof of education - a scanned certificate or something. I have NO idea how I'm supposed to provide one of those, given that I graduated about 20 years ago, have moved country twice, have moved home about four times and have no idea where mine is. No one else has ever (ever!) asked me to prove it.

Hmmm never hear of it but like the other commentators I am interested. Let us know how it goes. There are 4 weeks in a month mostly and a bonus $400 wouldn't hurt anybody. ;D I'll search this website and keep it on my bookmarks. Thank you for sharing and no I haven't heard of anybody working for this website besides you.

This is a very interesting news for the writers and seems the site is not known to the mylotters. If the site is legitimate that pays well, it has therefore, a requirements that every applicants should meet. Same with the other mylotter's comments, I'll check the site, too.
