Do I believe in God?

Ask me that question and I will first ask you to describe God. Do I believe that there is some intelligent being that sits in judgement of my every move? No way, what I do believe is what you sow you will reap even if it takes many life times. Do I believe that this same intelligent being will answer prayers and requests, will bargin for my soul with another intelligent being? No. I do believe that all matter is energy based and that there is both positive and negative energy, that it is my choice which I attract, that I am as we all are energy which has come into forms to experience life. Why? Now there is the question that I have no answer or belief for. How about you? Any answers? Not from a book, not from a myth and not from teachings of others, but rather from deep in your heart?

I have heard this many times. God is love. Love is an emotion, it is an energy that can be measured within the human brain, so here we are again back at the start of this discussion. As for the creation that we exist in I never cease to be thankful for being here. Thanks for your responses.

Describing God isn't easy. Certainly God is not an old man who lives in the sky and whose portrait was painted my Michelanlgelo on the Sistine Chapel ceiling.. I think God is an energy beyond our understanding. It is not male or female but can be both. God is personal and we can reach God and talk to God and God does answer our pleas but not necessarily as we want. Most important to remember..God is beyond our reach in reasoning and knowledge..someday we will understand but we need to grow into that understanding...Just my opinion

So, when you say 'energy' you mean that which can be detected and measured and transformed into another form of energy, be it light, heat, motion, etc? all the best urban

Gishanhair... God is not and cannot be energy. How can we know this? How can we know if one thing is another. By Leibniz Law, if two things are the same then they have identical properties. So we must ask, do energy and God have the same properties? One property of energy is that it can be detected using physical means and another is that it can be transformed into another form of energy, light, heat, motion for example. Can God be detected using physical means? Can God be transformed into another form of Energy? No, therefore God is not energy. "WE CAN NOT CREATE THE ENERGY OR WE CAN NOT LOSE THE ENERGY, BUT WE CAN CHANGE [TRANSFORM ] THE ENERGY ONE FORM TO ANOTHER FORM." No longer true, post Einstein, since E=MC2 energy can be transformed into matter and matter into energy, this is what happens in a nuclear bomb or reactor. We might have postulated an improved version of the law of thermodynamics that you quote; The sum of E + MC2 is constant in the universe but Hawkins has shown this also to be false. Humans, animals, plants are clearly not energy, though they contain energy more later al the best urban

I am totally into energy healing. I can tell you how to use your mind to repair your energy field. I am learning to be able to feel where the energy field needs help. Some healers can do this for you, but I can only lead you into doing your own repair. We are only now becoming aware of the wonderful power of the mind, in the West. Eastern cultures have long known this.

Savypat, "I am totally into energy healing. I can tell you how to use your mind to repair your energy field." Again, I ask when you say energy, do you mean that which can be detected and measured and transformed into another form of energy, be it light, heat, motion, etc? all the best urban

From my heart ,I believe there is a G-d, a Being that can take on many forms and is called by many names. I can't experience Him.I call G-d Him because for me He is male. Since I can't experience a personal relationship , we are distant . But I know if I Need help , He will be there. I Know He knows I try to keep Kosher at least 9 days out of the year. And I Know He knows vengeance is His but I do borrow it from time to time.So I do believe in G-d. And I do believe He appears to others in differ ways and forms . So I do believe in All the G-ds.

You have a wonderful guide for life, follow it. I only warn you about vengeance, be careful. If God is vengeful he sees the whole picture, if you are prone to vengeance you do not see that, no human can. Making such judgements can come back and bite you in the behind. Thanks for your thoughts.

I truly believe that their is a "God" or higher being out there in the universe. I have to say I have only started believing since 9/11/2001. That was the day that I will never forget my guardian angel saving my life, as I ran out of the WTC south tower. When running down from the 91st floor and after a long time as I reached the 60th floor I said to myself "oh God I don't think I'm going to make it out." No sooner I heard a females voice inside my ear (it was as if she was standing next to me whispering in my ear) "Janet, you have to get out of the building. This was repeated in my ear three times. Something came over me that I was able to get the energy to get out in time before the building crumbled to the ground. The reason I didn't think I was going to make it was because I hadn't eaten and I have low blood sugar. Using all that energy to run down 91 floors (times two because each staircase had two landings) would usually get me to the point of passing out. From that day on I have believed and I know for sure something is going on in the universe that is bigger and better then all of us.

Anyone who has had experiences such as yours has to know that there are other beings that have our lives in their care. I have had knowledge of these all of my life and often thank them for their influences in my life. What ever you call them you were given the gift of extended life while many others were not and I am sure you treasure it. Blessings

I declare myself agnostic as I feel that I don´t have the powers in me to understand the trascendental. But I have some do´s and dont´s. I don´t think that what is called God in all faiths is different; whatever it is, it´s for everyone, including ants, rocks and far galaxies. God must be a sort of energy directing something greater than what our physics call the Universe. Once, when my grandson was dying, I yelled in front of a friend why didn´t He take me instead of a boy 7 years old. The friend told me not to think about God as an engineer, first come, first go or someone I could barter with as if it was a commercial trade. From then on, I think that in moments of great sorrow, the best sentence for me is "Thy will be done". I don´t understand or know who is God, but I can try to understand acceptance. I am happy to be able to see the miracles people and nature have every day for me to see. I can talk to a bird who is gathering herbs to make it´s nest, I can scowl at a veggie who is not rippening as soon as I want to, I can play making beautiful and yummy food for my people. Now I´m trying to make short time plans as I´m on chemo for a cancer. But plans I have. I´m alive and living.

Yes, God does exist, however few really understand God. It's not hard to see that religion doesn't understand God. Life is the education of God's children. Yes,I'm afraid no one could ever learn it all in one mere lifetime. We are free to choose as we wish. Everything we choose returns in time. This is not to punish but only to show us exactly what our choices mean. Given enough choices over a large enough period of time, children of God realize that there is only one answer, Unconditional Love. After all, that is what we all want back. In time we learn to overcome the petty things of mankind like hate, jealousy, anger, fear, greed and the need to control others. Yes, just in time for knowledge breeds many more capabilities and responsibilities. If we are not ready, many get hurt needlessly including ourselves. Eternity is a very long time. Eternity has purpose. WE can do it all and be it all. All we have to do is simply choose!

It seems to me you are addressing emotions, which come for egos. I hear many talk of Unconditional Love. These are just words to me. I have no conception of this, even Love given as a true gift, with no strings attached, still brings pleasure to the giver. How can love be unconditional? Thank you for your imput.

I believe that there is a power that is higher than us and I also believe in heaven. I don't know that I think that this power is a human form, but it is something that helps me through the darkest times in my life. I don't believe that you have to strictly have to adhere to a certain religion in order to be able to reach salvation. I believe that each person can pick and choose those things that they are the most comfortable with as their way of celebrating their religion.

I do not follow any religion including scientology. I think everyone believes in something, somewhere. So, God is what you feel it is. God is just a statement, an emblem of sorts. Like the emblem of a famous company. Everyone needs something to look up to. I on the other hand look up to no one but myself. I cannot believe in something that has many loopholes. Something that no one can really tell if it is fact or fiction. I do believe that what goes around comes around. No matter what.

God--to me--is 'that which controls everything beyond my control' ... unfortunate that some leader-heads have to put a human face & -personality on that entity (which is more like 'a network'), but ... whatever they gotta do to feel like their node in The God Network is charged right

It is belief that has no cause, right and wrong. It's the resting place of our souls.

Is belief a dream? How can it have no cause? Surely belief is a protection, a comfort zone. But I do agree it is a resting place of souls. Ah, but we have such restless souls. Thanks

God is something beyond for human beeing. You can't understand God if you used your logical. God is a mystery You can find Him by your heart. Night changes noon, Sun risese from the east, can you answer why it happens? Don't you think that There is Something beyond it? I prefer choose that God exists.

The fact is that we can tell why the sun rises in the east and why night changes at noon. Human kind is making great discoveries all the time. If God is in each of us then why should we not grow to understand that? Humans love the mystery and many are just fine accepting that mystery, they live wonderful lives under the comfort of this. Each of us will find comfort in what we are able to believe. There is no right or wrong here, only what is good for you. Thanks.

I agree with you about energy, but I don't know if deep down it is positive or negative in the sense of good or bad...the good and bad seem to be variables that we attribute to situations, and the same situation might be viewed oppositely by two different people, so I try very hard, without always succeeding, to not use good, bad, or any synonyms like that when I'm imagining this kind of deep down truth. I think that "God" is all of us together, connected by that energy, and agree with you that this body may be a form with which that connecting energy experiences life as we know it. Why is such a funny question, because the obvious answer to that is "why not?". Or, more frustratingly, "because". I don't really think the why matters. I think it's hard, though, to say that these ideas are from deep in one's heart alone. Humans typically come across so much information in their lives, that it is difficult to remember all of it and whether or not we read or saw something already or are spontaneously creating ideas and feelings.

I make no claim that any of my beliefs are original, but rather a collection of much information gathered through a life of study on the subject. I agree that why is a question originated from the human perspective, as humans we find it hard to accept a situation without a purpose. Thank you for your thoughts
