i agree with you. i think they do have a language to communicate but not to chat. maybe higher level animals like dolphins and chimpanzees are able to "chat" using a more complicated language.

Yes, I'm pretty sure they do. My kitties talk together all the time. One will "say" something, and the others will listen and often react. One of my cats even tries to have conversations with me and we talk back and forth. Another one has different meows depending on what he wants me to do for him. The third is just plain quiet!

yes i think they talk to each other and i think they do so for more than just life exxentials. they may not be as advanced as we are in thinking and reasoning, but they have their own kind of intelligence and they have feelings if you watch them.

don't know about language, but they definitely have ways of communicating.
You may not call it "chatting," but much of the communication between animals seems to involve trying to find a good mate--so maybe it is like chatting, or flirting, or "hitting on" possible partners!
