Why is it that some people are more interested in other peoples lives.

I have known people like this and find they have way too much time on their hands and or are simply just too nosy and enjoy mingling in other people's lives. Some get a thrill out of talking and investigating about other people lives. Personally I detest it and wish they took a look at what is happening in their own home. But we can't control how people feel and think so best to distance from such type people.

Maybe they have not much going on with their live so they enjoy looking at others.

I just answered a post of your where I mentioned my MIL. What you are describing here....is my MIL. I stay away from here for this reason. She is more interested in others...and will stop at nothing to find out.

I think that the reason that there are a lot of people that like to be involved in other people's business is because of the fact that they have to have drama in their lives. These are the kinds of people that think that the only way that they are happy is to see the unhappiness that other people have. This is not the right way to be, but far too many people are that way.

That is call curiosity. Everyone are curious about others peoples lives especially for those people that they have interest with. This can be clearly seen with celebrities. When you talk about someone, you will find that most of the people will start to come near to you and trying to listen. When someone hide about his/her life, then there will be someone tend to find out what happen in that person's life.

I agree with you. I have an aunt that is that way, she has to know whats going on with everyone else. But the worst part of it is that not only does she have this need to know everyone business, she tells everyones business. I also was a victim of this with her. When my marriage broke up, I found out 2 years later, that she knew my wife was gong to leave, and she never told me a thing. I find that very unfair and none of her business. I was outraged over that. Now, I hardly speak to her.

Hi joystick, The world is full of busybodies who just love to see others do things that they feel is wrong. Remember small minds talk about other people and their faults, so the less attention we give those people the better for all concerned. Our job should be to correct our own faults and try to improve our own character. The faults that people see in other people are just a reflection of their own. Speak only good of others or say nothing at all. That doesn't mean of course that we look away when others are being hurt, that is wrong too. We should always be ready to help others whenever and however we can, but lets do it as quietly as possible. Blessings.

Because their lives are so boring and lack luster that they want to know what the Jones' are up to. And there gossips that snoop into other's lives and then spill all in their own version. And it is respectful to keep our noses out of other peoples lives and situations. Privacy and all that.

i once read an adage that i cannot recall. it has to do with the quality of minds that people have. if i am right, it said that small minds talk about people.

You know what, you are right. Indeed, some people are not minding their own business because they are envious that other people are living their lives to the fullest, while they live in misery. They simply don't want others to be happy. They think that it's an entertainment for them, which is not a good idea.

I don't know why that fascinates but all of us have a little of this, when we are bored perhaps other people's affairs becomes very interesting. But I think it should only be with the lack of other subjects, because it's really wasting of time.

Hi joystick..! :) In my opinion, basically it is because as a human being we are always attracted to things which are interesting enough so we would like to find out more and more, to know better. But, sometimes we are mislead. I think, when we finf out that our own life is such a bored stories, we then more attracted to other people's life, which we find it more interesting :) Thats why people, especially woman, like to have a gossip with their friends, i guess.., they need to catch up about what happens in someone else's life, people they know, people they care about, or people they envy.. :D This, usually when we do not have more important thing to do in our own life, about our own future. People with great self-motivation, who knows what they really want and how to achieve it, rather to take care of their own business, and kind a do not have time to mind other people business, in positive ways. just want to share my opinion here.. :D have a great day! :)

As you know,not all the people are happy about their life,so they want to see other people's life no matter it is better or worse.If your life is happier than his,he will follow what you do to make his or her life happier,if not,he or she will get some comfort frow your miserable life ,then he or she will happier than before. On the other hand,curiosity is the nature of the people.We always want to know something we donnot know.
