SCARY MOVIES DON't SEEM to SCARE ME (IS THIS NORMAL?)

I'm bradycardic. Which means my pulse rate is less than the normal which is 60 beats per minute. In addition to that, my Blood Pressure is just 90/60 mmhg which is normal but then, it's the lowest normal reading.
Now, I noticed that when I watch suspense, thriller, or horror films, my friends tend to scream while I just don't. I can't even feel that my heart rate increases. Is this normal? Or am I too relaxed?

Maybe you aren't watching the right movies. I watched The Fog recently and that was scarey. Then the other day I watched The Cave and that was exciting. Then last night I watched The Lost Tribe and that was really scarey. Poor girl! I have watched those The Hills Have Eyes too and some others that were creepy. When I am depressed these don't really affect me because my mind isn't on it.

The Fog creeped me out because of the spiders. Ugh! The Cave was scarey for me because of the deep water situation. The Lost Tribe was scarey cause she was the only one left.

Hi! You know what I watched The Fog and I fell asleep. I haven't watched The Cave yet though. I saw Hills Have Eyes 1 and 2 and they're okay. I watched Saw from 1 to 6! Final Destination 1 to 5!. Maybe I'm used to the feeling of being scared so my mind thinks that there's nothing to be scared of? I love watching movies with gore and blood. If I watch drama or some slow-paced movie, I tend to fall asleep. :)

Nothing really to do with your pulse rate or blood pressure, it might be that you just don't like the horror genre lol. If I fall asleep during a movie it means I don't care for it not because it is not scary. I can probably count on one hand the number of horror movies that have really freaked me out and I grew u on horror since I was a kid, maybe that is the problem, we are immune too it lol

Woo! I hope not! Maybe I'm just to athletic. I read somewhere that bikers even have slower pulses! :)

Lol Yeah. Maybe I don't get the same reaction I had when I was a kid because I'm already immune to it.

since a long time ago i never really saw a horror movie that scare me too... maybe one of the reason is the internet where we can watch real people doing a real horror so when we watch a movie we can really see that they were just acting and it doesn't look as scary as real people doing a real horror.

i don't remember the title, but most of them are movies from my childhood. Back when i was little if i saw a horror movies, it usually give me nightmare when i slept. One of the things i remember was the scene when an ill guy spit a big worm/cocoon then the worm develop into a scary creature and start consuming people in the hospital. Other movie that i remember is some kind of dark swamp jelly/liquid that hunt people who enter the swamp. both movies are from my childhood and i don't know the titles. Horror movie that i watch when i'm adult never gave me nightmare so i don't consider them too scary.

I watched all kinds of horror movies back in childhood and I feel the same thing. I was afraid to look under the bed and I was scared to go in the dark. Maybe as we grow older our threshold for creeps increases too.

What's the scariest movie you ever saw? Mine was "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". That was really hyper!

Guess you don't react to horror films compared to other people. Some people are more susceptible to horror films, getting their heart rate pumping up while yours don't because you just don't it the film too entertaining? When I'm with a group of friends, they would all huddle together and start screaming into each other whereas I'll just sit there and laugh at them. I don't find horror films that scary because most of them are so predictable these days. Sometimes my heart rate increases because of the tension but I don't react like flailing my arms everywhere and screaming.

Wow I wish I could be like you guys! Just as much as looking at a horror movie poster scares me.

Good to hear that! I don't know maybe our "scare threshold" is a bit high. Sometimes I feel good because when my friends scream at a horror movie, I'm the who just say "shhhh" to them. :)
