I was still a newbie when I made my account in Paypal two years ago. I didn't know anything about it; the rules, everything. I made an account the way I signed up for other websites ( like Facebook, Twitter). I didn't put my real name, and I put USA as my country even if I am really from Dubai. The reason I wrote USA in every site I signed up is that, in most website, whenever I put Dubai in my country, the site will be automatically be Arabic ( I only understand English). I didn't know that Paypal is very strict ( I was a newbie).
Until now, I can't get my money in Paypal. They told me I should put my card details, Social Number, and all. But I can't because the name I had written there is just like a username :((
I tried to send them an email, tell them I really am from Dubai. I even asked them to check my IP address, and they will see the truth. I even tried to tell them to refund the money from the sender because the money will be in waste if it will be stuck in paypal without anyone using it. But until now, all I receive is automated message from them.
I have moved on, I will just forget about the money. But I keep on remembering when I see my earnings here in myLot.LOL

It never pays to withhold the truth on a website like Paypal...I really don't know how to help you. I have never seen a real way to talk to someone. I've never seen a phone number to Paypal or a direct email address that will be answered by a human. I realize you didn't know.. but I'm wondering how you thought you would get your money without connecting it to a card or to a bank that has your real name on it. I hope you can get your money.. that's a lot of money to waste.

Hi PointlessQuestions :)
Yes, they are all automated response. I was going to connect my bank account in Paypal. I guess the main problem is that I was not aware that the name you type in their site cannot be changed once you submit it.
I guess it's okay now. Two years had passed. I'm moving on. :P

Hmm I guess you are doing well after that incident :P I will be happy if you share how you earn. Coz we all are here to earn. In India they have some policy to auto withdraw all amount from Paypal account to bank daily

I am really sorry to hear that, but I think there's no way to claim that big money as you already break their Terms of Services..
But I glad that you already moved on and forget about the money. (I guess it was really hard, OMG $100 XD)
At least now we can take a lesson from this incident; even we are newbie, we have to read and follow the TOS if we don't want to lose our account. :)
I wish you can get a greater substitute for that $100 in the future.
Cheers.

Yes, I am also wondering what will happen with the money. I even asked them to refund the money to the sender so someone can use the money. But as usual, I received an automated response.
LOL. I love cats, too. Don't ever change your avatar! :))

Hi Varier,
Yes, it was really hard the first time I realized I cannot change my name in Paypal, and I can't connect a bank account. But it was two years ago and I had moved on. I have a work now and I'm earning so much more. So it's okay now. :)
Thanks a lot for your response. I really feel happy when you respond to my discussions. Cos I can always see your avatar. So cute! :))

I have questions regarding the account. You see, I have been here for a long time now and I have never reached $100.00. Further, you know that paypal is a legit site and you need real information for those stuff, don't you?
Anyhow, I am hoping for the best, but I sure hope that things would be settled soon. But yeah, for now I don't think you should expect too much, these things have legalities and you know from the start that money is involved.
Good luck! have a great MyLot experience ahead!

Hi Laydee. I never said that the money is from myLot earnings. That was 2 years ago, and I got it from some Physics forum site. It is really impossible for me to receive a hundred bucks here in myLot especially, I have been a member here for only four or five days.

"Further, you know that paypal is a legit site and you need real information for those stuff, don't you?" -- Have you really read my post? I said I was a newbie in Paypal and didn't know anything about it, or any rules regarding the site. And yeah, I don't expect anything. As I have written. I said that I already had moved on, and is trying to forget about it.

Wow that must really suck. When I first opened my account with Paypal I was told by numerous sites that they were a bit strict when it came to providing accurate information. A friend of mine went to the same situation, but the information he provided was intentionally it was just an error of putting in the wrong number on his B-Date or SS# either one, and paypal give him a bit of trouble luckily after a while of attempting to resolve the problem, they did.
I am sorry you lost all those earnings I know how hard you must've work to earn it.

I heard that their customer service department really sucks, most of the times you can't get someone to help you out either on the phone nor by e-mail, getting a response is sometimes even impossible. It's sad to hear because you know how many people have paypal accounts and how they also rely on them to provide customer service especially in a situation like yours.
Luckily I haven't had any problems in which I have had to contact them for nothing and I am extremely grateful.

Hi fabsprecious. Thanks a lot for your response. :)
It was really hard that time because I was the first one to use paypal in my friends and in my family. So no one gave me an advice. I learned my lesson, and I realized that they really are strict. One wrong move, and they will limit your account and will give you a hard time to fix the problem. I am just thankful that it didn't happen to me again, I earned several times with the same amount in my new paypal account. I am just really disappointed with Paypal's customer service. They don't respond to the inquiries. They just send an automated response.

mariahhh, have you thought about, sending the money to someone? and then getting them to write you a cheque?
for example.. if you "sent" the money to someone, then the person would have the money in their paypal.
they could then transfer it to their bank account, and either withdraw the money for you, or send you a cheque?

Hi rafiholmes :) Yes it is not veried because I do not have a real name on it. I cannot change my name in paypal, and I cannot connect a bank or credit card account because of the name issue. And I also cannot transfer the money in a prepaid card because my account in Paypal is not verified. :)

I really want to get it. But their customer service sucks. Whenever I try to send them an e-mail, no real person will answer me. Only automated response. I have a new Paypal account now, and good thing it's verified. You should verify your Paypal, too. So you can withdraw your money. :)

Hey, instead of trying to get the money as cash, you can try to buy some things from ebay or amazon or some other eshops. I think if you are making a purchase, paypal does not ask unnecessary questions, and in this way, you will be able to spend your money, Try it.

well really you should have come clean as the admins at paypal really are very helpful so then they would show you what to do. I know as I was new on my lot and on PayPal and did not know how to connect my online bank account with my paypal account so I could
deposit my earnings from mylot into my bank account., the nice lady admins showed me every step of the way so they will help just be completely honest with them then it will get worked out.I would go back and try again only be very honest about everything and ask for help to be walked through the procedure. let us know how you fared.

This is an unfortunate situation. Yes, there are times when I put in a fake name to sign up for websites, but I don't normally put a fake country of residence, maybe because our country do not have much restrictions like those in India or China or other parts of the world. Have you asked how you can withdraw the money from Paypal in your situation? Ask them and see what they say about it. Maybe there is a way out.

Hi :)
Yes, in my case, the language will automatically be Arabic. I actually did not know that it will only happen to some sites. LOL
I tried to contact them several times. But the only answer I receive is automated. No real human will answer you if you tried to mail them.

IS your paypal account already a verified member if not then you must process that.
" But I can't because the name I had written there is just like a username" Username in where? In your credit card? Or in your paypal account?
If you like to be serious in receiving your money in Paypal act as one. Use your real name, real details.
My advise is create another paypal account this time use your real details. Then send your earnings to your new created paypal account. Then process your card to be link on your paypal account, AGAIN, with real details.

Hi syoti20 :)
The main problem was I did not know that I can never change my name in Paypal. I already have a new paypal account where I receive the same amount several times. But I will not be able to transfer my money from my old account to the new one because the first account was limited. Because you see, it cannot be verified because I cannot connect a bank account because my it is not my real name.
I don't have any hope that I will ever get that money back. It was two years ago and I had moved on. :)

i dont blame you for putting a false name on your account i usually use a fake name when i sign up for something too i know it is just a name and maybe i am over reacting but i am not always comfortable with strangers from across the world knowing my real name i dont want to make it any easier for them to do something stupid there are so many con artists out there but if you were planning on giving your bank account information to paypal dont you think that information is more important than you username if you were giving out the bank information it dosent matter if they know your name or not

Yes, for me it is very hard to put your real name in a website. I feel like it is very personal. I was a newbie in Paypal that is why I did not know that I cannot change the name anymore. If I did know, then I will put my real name in Paypal. :(

Wow, 100 $ would have been a good money LOL. That is why when I signed up paypal, I use my real name. In that case when I get paid eventually in the future, I can get the money.
So far I have zero on my paypal. I am hoping mylot will bring me some cash. I cannot wait for my first pay on mylot!

see this is what happens when you try to cheat. they cheat you back. now you are stuck. imagine that 100$ in your bank for 2yrs. it would have definitely grow. but you loose just coz of a simple mistake.

FYI, I did not try to cheat. If you read the whole responses here, there are people who are not comfortable to give their name online. A person not giving her name online doesn't mean you're a cheater, right? A coulpe of months after that happened, I created a new Paypal account and I earned that same amount several times, so I had moved on. It is only $100 my dear, it will not grow that much in a bank. :)

Does that mean you can't even send the money to another account? Obviously, they aren't going to respond to you since they keep sending automated messages. I guess now you will start using legitimate information when signing up for accounts. Sorry this happened to you.

In your situation, I advise you to finish up all of the money in your paypal account by doing online purchase.
Firstly, you should try to open a new paypal account by using any of your family's members particulars. You can perform a money transferring from your old account to your new account.
If the first proposal is not workable, you should utilize all of your paypal balance to performance online purchase.
Hopefully, you will resolve your problem.
