if words could kill, how many have you murdered?

i happen to pass by a neighborhood and saw a middle-age lady endlessly ranting on his husband. She was somewhat cursing him, and hoping he would just vanish! then she turned her wrath against her daughter who was crying and keeping both hands on her ears as if she doesn't wish to hear what her mother's yelling.
seeing that incident, i felt pity over her family as she was showering them with nasty words and anger. if words could kill, then i think she committed murder.
how about you? if words could kill, how many have you killed?

the child is more pitiful on that situation.well i have never yelled or cursed anyone so i guess i would never be a murderer if that's the case.i am a patient person so if i get angry with anyone, i stay away from that person until my anger subsides.

it must have been a traumatic experience for the child.
patience is a good virtue and learning to subside your anger is admirable, but sometimes letting your anger once in awhile helps you loosen up and feel at ease with yourself afterwards, lol! thanks.

I try to keep an even temper and an even mind when dealing with people. That being said, there are just some times where the tongue does tend to slip around just a little bit. Stress can be a be a powerful little motivator that could really cause people to be rather shorter than usual, a bit more agitated than usual, and lash out slightly more than usual.
So there are a few times where I could have committed murder with the words that I have spoken. Or at least wounded some people. Naturally when I calm down my nerves, it is going to really be a period of great remorse. However there are just many times where words have been said, there have been some ugly statements that have flown out of my mouth and really that would be that. So yeah, I think that I have killed or at least wounded a few people.

yeah, i agree with you that stress could naturally cause a sudden change in mood swings. sometimes it is inevitable not to say nasty words with uncontrolled temper to the point of saying something you really don't mean to, but you did out of your anguish as a means of retaliation.

i dont think i have murdered anyone. i am careful with my words and not yell very much. if i am already very very angry then that is the time that i curse and yell and that was the time when i have to break up with my abusive boyfriend.

sorry to hear about your boyfriend, fortunate for him, words can't kill, lol! the very nature of thinking before you speak so as to be cautious on what to say is really admirable because it's hard to do that especially when you're around people who are always yelling and don't seem to care about others around them.

That must have been a rally bad experience for the guy... I don't say harsh words though since i don't want to hurt anybody's feelings. Words really hurt even more than a punch since it really lasts in your memory..

It doesn't surprise me... my aunt, mother, female cousins, great aunt all were 'able' to do all those mud-slinging.. I don't have a clue what will stop them.

i think you're not getting it. the hypothetical question is "If words could kill, then how many have you killed?" obviously the grammar may not seem correct to you, but the implications are very clear. so, literally rephrasing my discussion [for your sake] it means assuming words could kill and assessing the nasty words that came from your mouth, how many have been your victims? okidoki...hohoho! lol!

I don't think I've ever killed anyone with my words, though I have had very hot discussions. I'm my father's daughter, and I really have to be provoked to lash out at someone. Even then, although my volume goes up, I don't curse or resort to personal attacks when I get angry. I just shut up or cry, depending upon whether I'm angry or just badly hurt. However, if words could kill my husband would have a lot of victims. When he's angry he can't seem to control his words. Maybe it's his Southern European background.

It is true that words which are coming from the mouth have the capability to kill others. They are very easy to express . They are spoken out quite easily but each of the word coming from my mouth has the power to penetrate into others heart act as a computer virus. So we people must think twice before we express it o others.
