What bargains have you bought at a flea market for profitable resale?

A while back, at a car boot sale (flea market for non UK readers), I bought an envelope which had a picture of princess Diana on it and a stamp which had the date of the royal wedding on it. I paid £2 to the stall holder and later sold it to a collector for £22. Last week I wanted a hurricane lamp and they were going for £4.99 on ebay plus around £3 - £4 for shipping, so around £8-£9 total. When I went to a local car boot sale, I picked one up in good useable condition for £2 (haggled the vendor down from £3).What items have you picked up at car boot sales, flea markets, garage sales etc which you later sold on for a profit?

Well here we have street markets instead. After the market has officially ended at 4 p.m., the gypsies set up sheets on the ground to sell just about everything!
Most of my computer came from there, e.g. 500 GB hard disk = 1 Euro.
Almost everything is 50 cents or one euro. Should be able to sell a lot on ebay, but can't because shipping costs would be too high.

I'm not doing too badly with shipping costs, have sold items to people in Ireland and Spain recently. Must be rough in Athens at the moment. Are you having to pay the outrageous property taxes there also? The UK is collapsing too, so I think many of us will have to do what the gypsies are doing with selling things to get some extra money....

I think you did well! I wish I could find a hurricane lamp for that! I found some one year at wal-mart I think for 25+, I didn't like the color or design and the kids smashed them playing they knocked them down. Now I'd prefer the more antique looking ones but you know those you find in antique shops for say $100+ online you can find them up to the 1000's. Clearly for that price and the carelessness of my kids I have to wait while the prices keep climbing for such things

I really miss going in a car boot sale! I am very fascinated to see those things that costs really cheap. The last time I went to a car boot sale was 5years ago and I bought a dior bag, black fur coat, tops, jeans etc.. My aunt was able to buy this real mini piano made of wood for only 15quid, and it's still working! I never thought of looking for other stuff that I could sell online a really good idea i must say!
