Can anyone explain what just happen to my number? I go back to check one of my posts and I still had a (33) but when I went to check on another one I went down five points. Can anyone explain to me what I did wrong?

As the many have explained it is due to deletion of violated guidelines. One of the main reasons I say to members not to track earnings and points. See when you become completely conscious of how you can earn here then the guidelines are not kept in mind. It is important to keep the guidelines in the forefront or our minds each and every time you post on here. Sometimes there are many who duplicate discussions and no knowing it is duplicate can cause for deletions. I often say to members to not track, doing so makes your time the next time you log in that much more you need to accomplish. Makes for a chore and less fun causing for double efforts on our behalf. If one goes with the flow and allow the earnings to flow, then the deletions are not an issue and actually learning curves.

It's hard sometimes to figure out what discussions/responses/comments were deleted and for what reasons. What I have done/still date is that when the notifier finally arrives, I will compare that to what I put in the trash folder to see what discussion it was about. Generally deletions arrive the same day and or next day. So if you see the notifier about such and such discussion deleted because the question you answered violated the terms and conditions, then I find that discussion I had in my trash bin and can easily see and compare to the guidelines so I can fathom how to delineate between what is what. What this does to me is understand guideline perhaps the discussion itself was relating to which guideline violation. This way I can easily remember next time I see the same type of deletion. One example I could give you is something like which do you like and they list an a,b,c, option. That right off the bat is a poll type discussion. Something you want to avoid in the future. So it just sounds like you responded to certain violations of the guidelines and since the entire discussion was deleted so was the response. This happens to me from time to time too. Tony it does get easier, it really does. If you had offended someone and or directly did something wrong the email would state that. So don't worry and continue enjoying your time here and it does get smoother.

Keep checking your mail. You have lost some of your posts and you will eventually receive notifications from myLot telling you which topics they were that hit the dust. Don't worry and keep on posting to make up from them. Oh, and if you earnings drop too don't start a topic about it because that is explained in the FAQs too. If the earnings for the deleted posts had already been added to your account, they will later be deleted. http://www.mylot.com/o/faq/faq6.aspx#17

Chances are it's not you, but a discussion you contributed to, which broke the rules. Like me, you seem to be a fairly prolific "responder" to topics that take your interest. So say you make 4 comments to a topic which was later deleted. Unfortunately, your "score" would go down by 4. Don't worry, you're not penalised in any other way!

I think Tony wasn't only participating in a topic that being deleted later. It was several topic; because as far as I know you can only get max of 2 points from a topic. And because of Tony lose 5 of his points, then I think Tony was participate in at least 3 discussions that being deleted later .. That's too bad.. And @Tony: I suggest you to read the guideline more carefully, not only for your response, but also for making you being able to tell whether a discussion is going to be deleted or no.. If you don't want to lose your point, then don't give response to a discussion that has a great possibility to be deleted.. Happy mylotting..

I did not know that something like that could happen. If the points are being taken off, is your earning deducted too? I hope not. I am also a newbie that is why I don't know much about myLot rules (though I have read it already). :P

welcome to mylot. I think it may be because the responses you made were deleted or a discussion started by you was deleted. You might have received an email for this. It happens like that for most of us. Read the FAQ and post as many responses as possible.

Yup! That really happens when some of your discussions get deleted or you responded to a discussion that got deleted as well.

Really? So say I responded to someones discussion I lose all my points that I made if it gets deleted? Why is that though? And I really don't see a discussion being deleted because most are helpful tips or opinions of some sort. Well that really sucks. . .

There are discussion Guidelines which we should follow when posting here: http://www.mylot.com/o/guidelines.aspx We should all be aware of them, even when responding because then we will know which topics to avoid.

Tony its happens to me often morning i had more than (380) now i had less than that. Its because what all members says that respond to post or we comment gets deleted. I never mind about that because how can i know before that response wil get deleted or what can i do if a response gets deleted. For that we loose our reputation and also our earning simply some cents. So dont feel go forward.
