Flexible Smartphone

Coming soon, Samsung will be launching an impressive cellphone that will blow your mind too.
Galaxy Skin which is not only the slimmest AMOLED smartphone but the most toughest and flexible phone. So, flexible that it can be bent! Using Graphene screens would be practically unbreakable, and offer an instant advantage over every other smartphone on the market.
The technology relies on atom-thick layers of 'graphene' - sheets of carbon atoms - sandwiched together, protecting a layer of liquid crystal 'screen'. It is also resilient tough to even withstand blows from a hammer and the thickness is only 0.3mm thick.
It is impressive indeed but I am wondering if they could be solar powered (like their other phone) and water resistant.

Hiya sky,
Me I am not very techie but when I see something I like, I like it and this is one of those that I like.
Samsung have really done it very well how brilliant can they get?
We both commented not so long back that mobile phones could be like this soon as we had been watching something about flexible computer screens made out of something similar I think it was.
I think it is the same material but not at all sure anyway this is fantastic and thank you for showing us this beautiful phone they have done it again.
Well done Samsung.xxx

lovinangelsinstead21,
You are welcome. I am just glad to be of help.
Samsung has come a long way and have been responsible for most of the touchscreen phones of other brands including the latest Apple iPhones. Samsung is really impressive and I hope that they would go further on the friendly energizing for this phone (solar power).
Anyway, I think it will be interesting to see when it launches.

lovinangelsinstead21,
I wonder if you've heard about Apple iPhone(s) going to have wireless charging capabilities.

Hiya sky,
Solar power pretty sure that will not take long you know the way things are going. We have solar powered things on the Motorway now you know like those long slim signs that they have above the Motorway itself telling you the state of the Road and all that also a few lights on the Roads have Solar Panels as well.
We want to be able to get Solar Panels as well in time for the just in case times when they have their usual Power cuts.
It would be a welcome what am I saying a very great welcome to be able to charge Mobile Phones with Solar Power instead of having half a dozen battery chargers hanging around the House which eventually become useless and a waste of plastic as well.
Oh well it will only take time now and that´s it. Looking forward to seeing them being Solar Powered and I think Samsung might well be the Leaders in that venture.
Yes Samsung are brilliant and I hope they can keep going that way woohoo.xxx

Well guess this is great news for people who have a problem with breaking their phones when they get mad * cough cough my boyfriend cough cough* I wonder if it is water proof as well? It seems cool but I wonder how the picture will be.

Amanda81587,
Solar powering will be good to have indeed, considering the prevalent battery life of these phones when they are being used.
Not sure if you are aware but Apple is getting their next iPhone to be capable of charging without wires - wireless charging. In simple, a wireless charging system would be built into its iMac computers to charge nearby wireless devices, like a keyboard, mouse, and/or iPhones containing the appropriate receivers.
As for the picture quality, I have to say that the AMOLED technology is really very impressive and exceptionally excellent. The pictures are not only sharp and clear but the visibility angle is even much more wider than an above average phone.
The water resistance will indeed be interesting to see and good to have - which will make this phone to be almost invincible.
Let's wait and see.

bnpraveen,
I am not really a fan of Samsung but I have to agree with you that Samsung has not only come a long way, they have improved by leaps and bounds overtaking established brands like Nokia and Motorola.
Since you are in India, I am sure you could be enjoying Samsung's latest solar powered cellular phone which was recently launched in your country. However, I hope that ALL their phones in the future would be solar powered which is in line with the current green movement for friendlier energy.
I hope that there will be more leaping enhancements in the future.

The problem with this kind of technology is that, when it breaks down, you'll then have to replace it, since the design is not modular. And I just don't understand how will they be able to fit at 0.3mm thick all those specs Samsung just listed, i.e the 8MP camera, the processors, etc. The internal hardware components must be thinner than its encasing.

toniobacasno,
I cannot deny your legitimate concern here but I have to recall that the current phones are already getting thinner with the latest thickness measuring 0.3mm thin and still going strong.
I am sure the company would be well aware of this issue and I believe it would help to wait and see with an open mind while we wait for its official update and launch. It will be an interesting wait indeed.
