Hello mylotters! I thought of this because currently I am suffering from back problems. :(, it has been years already, however I do understand that this is the result of my sedentary lifestyle. Anyway, I am trying to change my habits, so back to my question. I do love having a massage, it simply relaxes me so much :)). I usually go to a massage parlor/spa where in "blind" people massage you. It's really a good experience since you get to talk with these wonderful people while they're massaging you. They also inspire me somehow because in spite of what they have been through, they're are still fighting :) and not giving up in life. I would also thank whoever thought of the idea of giving these people an awesome opportunity to earn. Lastly, they are trained and you'll be amazed that they know various kinds of massage.

I always love a good back rub - as a kid from my dad, and as an adult from my husband. The problem there was they were always ready to quit before I was. As to a professional massage, I've only had one in my whole life. In the end, I went away with mixed feelings. First, the massage was absolutely wonderful! Very relaxing and my whole body was happily relaxed all over. I felt like I would sleep very well and wake rested. The bad part was that when it was done, I had to get up, get dressed, get into my car, drive through heavy traffic to get home. I felt like mush when I first sat in my car and had to sit there for several minutes before I could even attempt to drive. Then by the time I got home, all of that good relaxed feeling was gone due to having to drive through stressful, heavy California traffic. For me, the perfect solution would be to get a masseuse to come to one's house - pay them in advance, and then they could just quietly go on their way while I would be able to remain in my delightful relaxed sleepy state until I felt like I wanted to get up!

I agree that sometimes it's really a bit frustrating since when the massage is over, then we go back doing things that will just bring stress again to our bodies. Also, what a wonderful idea! You are right, I think getting someone to visit you at home is better because you can relax better at your own place. Also I can say that my future wife will be lucky because I have great hands (according to various people), they say that my hands are heavy and that whenever I massage someone, they can really feel the pressure lol. However, some don't like it also like my uncle who is scared because he thinks I might break his back lol...

I love getting massages i feel so relaxed when i go in and i feel so relaxed when i leave. Its so nice to get them and just feel amazing. I wish i could get one every month or just every year would be nice but i dont think about myself that much but maybe for valentines day i will ask my boyfriend to get me a certificate to one so i can have a massage and feel relaxed and get these knots out of my shoulder and under my shoulder blade that are killing me. My mom tries to work them out but they hurt so bad and i tense up when she is doing it and wish they would just be gone too of course.

Oh yeah, you should really have them since they are really worth it. All those knots and stiffness we're suffering from will be relieved somehow though honestly speaking it's a temporary relief since once we engaged again to our daily routines, those stiffness, muscle pains, etc will come back lol. But hey, having a massage once in a while is not bad :), it's also a way of unwinding from all those stressful things that we have been through. Lastly, I know this is a bit funny, but I dream of marrying someday a woman who knows how to massage lol. Happy lotting!

I Love being able to get a massage and often would Love getting the change to get one. The problem is finding places I can afford, and then getting one done. Since I have some other Health issues many are afraid to do anything but getting one can be a great way to relax. Then people just need to remember to drink a lot of extra water afterwards to help release all the toxins from their system.

Thanks for the response. I agree that not everyone has access to an affordable massage parlor in their place, that's why I am grateful that there are cheap massage parlor in my area. Well a light good massage probably won't do any harm, nevertheless it's best to consult first an appropriate doctor before you get a massage since like you said you have several health issues. It's always better to be safe than sorry :).

I have never had a massage by a trained professional. My husband usually gives me back and neck massage and boy do they feel good! I would love to get one at a spa one day but they are too expensive for me right now. I love that you have one by you that is giving opportunities to people that other companies would not give a chance to! I bet they give better massages than anywhere else.

Well, I do know that most spas offer quite expensive massage however, I am fortunate that the nearby massage parlor here offers a really affordable rate which is just around 6 dollars for a whole body bed massage. Yeah these trained blind people can really massage well.

Oh I certainly love having massages! Not only does a gd massage makes me feel relaxed, it also helps me to sleep better. Talking abt blind masseurs, well, I used to hv massages by a blind lady. She was really, really gd! She even had a Diploma in TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) or sth like that, and she took it after she became blind. Somehow I lost touch with her.

I do love having a massage too, especially the hands and feet. When my hands and feet are rubbed its like the rest of my body is given a massage. The nerve ending end in the hands and feet, so when I have my hands and feet massaged I can feel it in other places and it helps with headache and back ache. So yes I do truly like a massage!

Oh sad to hear that. But yeah that chopping move feels really good :), LOL! Chopped beef, that makes me hungry :(. LOL! If you said that, maybe animal lovers and peta will react badly hahaha. Well my avatar is me, when I was like 2 or 3 years old at my grandparents place and as you can see I am sitting on ground filled with coffee beans that are being dried :).

I too have back massages however because I have fibromyalgia it can be very painful for my back to be massaged. I do like it when you use the sides of your hands and make chopping motion (in Danish/French we use to call it "Hakket Bouf" chopped beef lol) In a recent conversation here they were talking about if the Avatar was thier real picture... I didn't have the time to make an answer but if I did I was going to say I am a multi-talent Pine Weasel with excellen computer skills and that I got squirrles to run on hamster wheels to make electicity for me, it only costs me some nuts! I was using all My Mylot earings to feed them! I do wonder about your Avatar, is it you as a child or neice or nephew?

I really like to have a massage because it is so very relaxing and calming. It can make my neck and shoulder feel much better and the massage can relieve some back pain. I think it is amazing that the blind people are doing massages. It is a very good idea to let blind people do wonderful massages so they can make a living. I adore visiting a spa and having some relaxing treatments including a massage with some essential oils.

Anyway, can't pay you any money but will accept a + vote here on mylot as payment instead lol? hahaha.

Sorry but call me weird but I find massages really uncomfortable. When someone like my friend tries to give me a back massage, I just feel really annoyed and it doesn't make me relaxed at all. But I love giving massages though, apparently I give pretty good massages and my friends would ask me to do one for them. They told me I should get a job in back massaging I don't mind giving massages but receiving I definitely don't like. I don't know why but I don't find them very comfortable or relaxing.

I think no one is useless, everyone of us have a purpose that is why we are still living. Like you said, those blind people are very talented and skillful in massage because they can still sense eventhough they are blind and it is great that even though they are blind they still have source of income compare to me. . MOreover, about the massage, my sister is a massage therapist and whenever I feel feverish she will massage all of my body parts and i will be fine in a couple of hours. When I am tired at work, i request her to massage me at night and i always have a good night sleep. it is great to have a massage because it helps to circulate bloods on our veins. When we feel something hurt on some parts of our body, the cause is because the blood is clogging on some of our veins, you need to massage it to make the blood move.

Like you, I also love to get a massage especially if I felt soreness all over my body after doing chores at home and after playing badminton. We are lucky that we know someone who is good at massage and we just text her and she will come to our house. My mother, husband, as well as my daughters also like to have a massage. She is good and her massage helps ease the tension on my muscles and I felt really good afterwards. Massage is indeed a good experience to have because it promotes circulation of the blood making our tense muscles relax.

No I don't love having a massage. There are several reason why I don't like it. One of them is that I have several pains and massage only make them worser (mostly after the massage), also I don't like to get a massage of everyone (I don't like everyone touching me). I don't share your opinion that because someone is trained he is also great in giving a great massage. At least not over here.
