I was at the library yesterday and I asked the Librarian for a used sheet of paper to write something on. When I turned the sheet, I saw some wonderful words that made me think, here they are:
It is time for me to see the flaws of myself and stop being alarmed.
It is time for me to halt my drive for perfection and to accept my blemishes.
It is time for me to receive slowly evolving growth,
the kind that comes from God's own good time and pays no heed to my panicky pushing.
It is time for me to embrace my humanness, to love my incompleteness.
It is time for me to cherish the unwanted.
To welcome the unknown,
To treasure the unfulfilled.
If I wait to be perfect before I love myself,
I will always be unsatisfied and ungrateful.
If I wait until all the flaws, chips, and cracks disappear,
I will be the cup that stands on the shelf and is never used.
I just saw this one online and found out that it was from Joyce Rupp entitled The Cup of Our Life. Here's a link to the original http://www.joycerupp.com/cupofourlife.html

What a beautiful message! It is very inspirational and seems like it was just waiting for you. There are times that we are at the right place at the right time for something special to happen to us. It seems like this was one of your special moments!

One day I was on the train and I noticed a lady kept staring at me and smiling. I would always smile back but I felt awkward. Every time I would look she was watching me. Finally she walks over to me and starts telling me that I am special. She said she could tell from my aura that things have not been going well for me but that it was all going to change. At first, I thought she was nuts. But then she started telling me things about my personality that made me truly believe that she knew what she was talking about. She spoke about my secret fears and about my weaknesses. I was amazed! She gave me advice on how to improve my life. Later on, she came back over and told me she had a gift for me. She gave me the most beautiful rose quartz. I will never forget her or that day. It was just what I need at the time!

I agree, it is beautiful but one thing I don't agree with is, halting my drive for perfection. I understand that it is satisfaction that gives the most happiness but then if someone accepts his flaws because he doesn't want to work to get them right and he doesn't feel good about those flaws, then he is just doing the biggest mistake and that is giving up.
You need to fight in this world. You need to try achieve your goals, your aspirations, you should try to be perfect. People will then only recognize you.
That is what I want, and will try for. Stopping my drive for perfection is no excuse or a choice for me. Perfection is one thing that is the most remarkable of all qualities. ;)

Perhaps what it meant is not really to throw away your drive for perfection. But perhaps being a little bit tolerant to the humanness of people, which perhaps means that their ways may not always be perfect in our eyes. That we cannot change everything to what is 'perfect' for us because if we do so, then we'll end up frustrated.
Thank you for dropping by. Thanks for the thoughts.
