I know that my lot star is important since its our my lot reputation. But I don't know what's the difference of a blue or red star. Then recently, I cam across with a very helpful discussion. I learned that reputation can be a factor for the earnings as well. Knowing this, I became more motivated to click positive ratings (+) to my friend's post. It is a simple way that I can offer to my fellow my lot friends here.

Hi friend, those sign maybe silent but speaks very loud for most of us. Rating a mylotter (+) does not cost a thing, but I always fear a (-) sign which usually demoralize someone's effort here.

I don't use negative sign. I think I just used it a few times before with some rude and disrespectful comments with foul words. Not in my discussion but someone else discussion. Good thing, I haven't encountered such my lot users recently.

I've seen some discussions about this subject, the reputation. Some people don't care about it, probably because they don't know it affects the money that they earn. In my case, I really care about my reputation, because, more than money, I want the people know I am a respectable and nice person. I think people deserves a (+) when they contribute to the discussion, be friends or not. But when the comment isn't rude and has connection with the post subject, but don't add nothing, it is a neutral comment. Happy mylotting.

As long as the person contributes to my discussion, I rate it positively. It is whether that person is my friend or not. Even those people who has low number beside their name, I will still rate them.

Yeah, I think it is the purpose of this tool, not to only help friends. It is a good way to know if the person really contributes with mylot and to our posts. Sometimes I saw people with low numbers, but with good comments, so they deserve a plus rate too. I hope I get a blue star, like you. How long did you wait to get it? Happy mylotting.

You lost a star? Ugh! That does happen from time to time early on. Reputation is important and that is why I stress that everyone need to rate their fellow Mylotters on every response they make. I can't believe that some actually don't even rate anything at all! It makes no sense.

And that is exactly what needs to happen. But not always the case.

I totally agree. I think people now days do not think of helping one another but only of themselves.

I don't really think very much about my reputation on here. In fact, I wasn't really aware that the concept existed until I read this discussion. I am happy to see what my reputation level is though, because it means that people on here appreciate the things that I am saying, and also means that they take the time to read them as well. I always try my best to post good quality discussions, and this has obviously come across because I can see from my reputation level that people do like the things that I'm posting.

Hi chiwasaki, in myLot the colour of star is not so important. Important is the number of star. 10 means the highest reputation. If your quality of discussion and response is better you will earn more money. So to develop quality is the most important factor. Reputation depends on quality.

Yes but blue signifies number 10. Red star is for 9, yellow is for 8, not sure about 7 and below though. As long as they contributed on the discussion fairly, I will rate them positively.

Aww... that's so sweet, why didn't I think about that! I never knew that your star rating and reputation contributed to your earnings. Now that you've mentioned it, I'm going to start rating my friends' discussions! This really gave me motivation and it really does make you feel real good to rate someone positive, knowing you've done such a big favor for them based on your free will. Good idea! Thanks for mentioning this.

Very well said khare. We should rate others the way we want other members to rate us. As much as possible, we should rate every discussion.

Actually I don't know that the reputation will have an effect on our earning. But I always rate people's discussions and responses positive. I hope everybody will have a good reputation as it means for them. I love China

Hi youless! I also don't have any idea about this. I just read a discussion about this about few days ago. I don't use the ratings signs more often. But now, I will use it every time.

yes, i heard it from the members that star ratings is not just there to color our names but the stars are there to tell how we perform. but sometimes, people are abusing the ratings and intentionally rating neg some people which is not a good practice.

I almost always rate positive, but there's the odd one that are blatant which I'll neg them, and if there's a not-so-good post, I won't rate at all because I dont' like negging people as a rule.

chiw im exactly the same!! i've been going + mad! giving everyone and anyone that deserves the + it.. and even going back over old discussions and giving them it too. i hope people will do the same for me, but at the moment i'm happy with my 9 red star, and want to help everyone else achieve their good ratings :)

If you put your cursor on your star you can see a number. That is your rate. The highest is 100/100. It's very kind from you to rate positive your fellows.

Hi gamer! I also just recently found out that reputation affects our earnings. I thought it is just a reputation rating and simply stars. But now I know that these simple icons (+) (-) can greatly affects one earnings.

That's nice. Thanks for sharing this information. I don't know that these plus and negative signs affect our earnings.

When it's obvious to me that someone has put a lot of effort into a post, I give it a + . Sometimes I will also + a short witty comment or one that makes me laugh, so everything doesn't have to be long to get a + from me. I don't always plus all the comments that are repeats of earlier comments except for a bit of rewording, though. Technically a post deserves a + if it adds something positive to the conversation. I have never given a minus to anyone. The only thing I can think of that would deserve a - would also deserve to be reported. So far I've run into only decent people on myLot,and not any of the rotten eggs. Most people I've met here have been very supportive of each other.

I must say that reading the responses here made the rating system make more sense. I can see that either people not rating or negatively rating my contributions has caused my star to slip from 9 to 8. I am sincerely upset that I may have responded negatively to someone and would really like to know where that was, but that won't happen. Will try harder, promise.
