Hey everyone! So what are your theater peeves? Like for example, I hate people who do a commentary on a movie. They keep on talking loudly about everything about the movie. The way the effects are done, how the actors look, how they totally expected that to happen. It's annoying and plain rude to other moviegoers. There are also cases where people who already watched the movie and then watched it again. They tend to tell what would happen before it does. Annoying. Hahaha! Anyway, what are your peeves?

Noisy people, the same as you. I remember being at the London premiere of "Silence of the Lambs" and the woman next to me kept shrieking every time something surprising happened. I asked her if she'd mind keeping it down and she was just rude. So I suggested that, if she continued, I'd eat her liver with a nice Chianti some fava beans. She kept it down after that.

I hate people who keep laughing, chattering etc. through the production, those who eat noisily and rustle sweet papers/food bags, those who arrive too late and those who leave too early because they disturb everyone else. I also hate it if someone in the audience has a permanent sniff and won't blow their nose...drowns out the sound and spoils the whole thing. What you say too is also very irritating.

Hi nixie!
It's really annoying when there are noisy people inside the theater especially those who laugh in an exaggerated manner and those who laugh during not-funny-scenes. But my pet peeves really are those who sit as if there's no one at the back. Yes, with those heads held high. I mean, it's not their fault if they have long necks or if they are too tall for the seat but they can always do something about it, right? Like slack in their seats or something. Another are those who cannot behave in their seats and keep moving around that their feet bumps into the seat in front of them. I really hate it when there's someone like that behind me.

I'd have to say that the thi that bothers me the most are the people who have to get up and come back frequently. Whether they're running back and forth to the rest room, concession stand or both. They get up and walk along the row, making people have to stand/half stand when they leave, then again when they come back. Get your popcorn before you go in, and pee before the movie starts! I don't mind people talking so much, as long as it's hushed. A conversation or running commentary in a normal tone of voice irritates me, but it doesn't happen often I've seen.

It's a different scenario here i guess since people rarely stand up, but they really do commentaries and stuff.

People who constantly check their cell phones - don;t they know the phone lights up when they open it? It distracts you from the movie. Also when it rings - that is awful.
Talking during the movie too - not just commenting but kidding around and holding conversations.
Babies crying - take them out of the theatre!!! Do not sit there and try to shush them - it will not work. Just like in Church - take them outside. They need your attention! lol

In addition to doing commentaries, I hate those who kept on asking what's going on with the movie. It's as if they aren't really watching. I had experienced being in front of a couple who alternately repeated almost every line as if doing some subtitles

I am crazy about movies but I haven't been in the cinema for a long time, but not for that reason. I just love watching movies alone in my comfort zone, with my food and drink and with the ability to pause the movie whenever I want. I guess you can see this all situation of watching a movie in the theater as a fun and interesting experience with all the things that come along with it. people write stories and movies about these things.
