Halloween changes?

Have you noticed so many towns trying to change Halloween lately? I've heard of towns where there is no trick or treating anymore! I just don't know how I would deal with that. I remember several years ago, the town we lived in tried to change it so that the trick or treating took place the Saturday before Halloween. It didn't go well. Some people trick or treated on Saturday. Most people trick or treated on Halloween. The next year, they sent out a notice that trick or treating would take place on Halloween. Has anyone tried this in your town? Or has it actually taken place? I know not everyone takes part in Halloween, and that's their right. But that doesn't mean that the rest of u's should stop having our fun. What are your thoughts?

I think that all this should depend heavily in the kind of city or town where you live. In my country, Halloween has been an imported festivity. But the meaning of the word "trick" was badly taken for some not so small goblins who came to ring bells late at nihght and would throw eggs on doorsteps or place toothpaste inside the house bells and ringers if nothing was given. That had to be ruled and fortunatly now it is asked that small children come with their parents or someone in charge.

Well, last year there were several communities around here that did trick or treating on Saturday because of people that go to church on Sunday evening, but our city didn't do that. However, the year before that, they made trick or treating one hour longer because there was a home football game on Halloween night. I'm just glad that as it stands right now, trick or treat hasn't been messed up for my children.

Am I glad I don't have kids today. Back in my day All the kids went trick and treating. There were at least 50 of us out and about at the same time. I trick or treated for about 5 years and in return I gave out candy for 5 years. The last year I gave out candy was in the 90's . I stopped because there were less kids . I think it is that parents are leery of the neighborhood. back in my day my mom knew most of the parents and kids in my area. Now many parents don;t know the other parents. they are afraid of what will happen or what the kids will be given so they are trying to change things. Well, I don't think it will work.
